8 inch vs. 14 inch Touchscreen

It wouldn't matter if you're running Apple Carplay or the Android version... as for OEM, someone else will have to chime in.

Anyone able to find a part number or who will be the first one to swap a 14 inch screen on the 8? Probably the only mod I want to really do badly

I spent a decent amount of time researching this on the Tundra forums. The results seemed mixed or inconclusive because:

• Factory head units are VIN-specific (locked) and installing a new head unit requires a special process to connect to the vehicle. In some cases dealerships struggled with the process. It was unclear if any features still worked without fully connecting the new head unit VIN to the vehicle..
• Unclear whether the success stories were genuine OEM units or knock off aftermarket units
• Price for Tundra OEM 14" was $$$$, but could have been inflated by the dash bezels and vents being different for the 14". It seems like the 4G Taco would be more plug and play from a fitment perspective.

I'm sure this will be a hot topic in the coming years and hoping someone figures it out

Fairly certain it's all the same, just the size. Seems like the resolution is the same too between both sizes, which is a lose for the 14" in my opinion

I thought I was going to hate the 8" display but the more I use it and the more I see pictures of the big 14", I'm actually kind've glad I have the 8".

The 8" fits the size of the dash and truck a lot better than the 14" does. Just my opinion, but Toyota should have split the difference with a 10" or 12" screen and only offered one size. With the size of the bezels around the 8" screen, I think they could have squeezed something larger in the same overall footprint without it looking way oversized like the 14" does.
