New meaning to "bells and whistles"

I know we usually use the term "bells and whistles" when we are saying we want all options on our truck. But, my truck especially when cold upon initial startup I literally can hear bells and rattling. Is anyone else experiencing these strange noises from their 4th gen Tacoma?

It could be the direct and port injection. They are definitely sounds I've never heard from an engine before. LOL I'll try to record the sound once the engine is cold again, maybe tomorrow morning.

A lot of people describe it as sounding like a diesel engine.

It does sound a little "diesely". I think it is clatter from the high pressure fuel rail and injectors. I kinda prefer it actually over a sewing machine sounding 4 banger.

I think I know what you're referring to. I also hear the rattling. It sounds as if the grill is vibrating and making that sound, but once it pick ups speed it goes away.

I turned off my fake engine noises and shortly after turned them back on. Engine sounds like a tin can with rocks rolling around. Don’t love the pure engine noise.

The fake engine sounds in the '24 Tundra are 10 times worse, and you can here it over any music that's playing.

You need to have a obd2 dongle and something like carvista. I turned mine off and couldn’t really notice a difference.

Wish it always had that nice idle diesel clatter it does at idle
