Bed Step Installed -- made by Amp-Research (purchased from Toyota dealer)

I just went into my dealer here and bought bed step and installed it. After when I was done I was surprise to find that the bed step is not Toyota OEM. It says Amp-Research. So maybe going there to buy it might be cheaper if you are looking to get one.

I’ve considered getting one. My old F150 you could step on the bumper. Not on the TACO. It’s quite the manouver to get in the bed.

For me it is just a little too high. Yes it works well with tail gate down and very comfortable to get up. Feels pretty solid. Paid $357.00

Can you post a picture of the tail gate down and the step extended? I was looking at these but I thought it was only useable with the tail gate down.

My tacoma is a work / play truck.
The bed step is the first after market thing I bought for my 24 tacoma. The more you use it the less it cost I'm my mind. I just unloaded 3 bales of alfalfa, easy in, easy out, and it's always there when you need it.

Looks like AMP bedsteps for other models are all in the $330 range. I do not see the 2024 Taco listed anywhere yet. They sell on Amazon and it looks like the lowest they go over a year range is $275-$300 in the fall.

The OEM listing is $385 on Toyota Parts. Find the right dealer and you could probably get it at 20% off aka $308.

On a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the hardest, how difficult to instal?

Too high for me.

I installed one also. I have bad knees and this really helps me up to unload stuff from the bed.

The funny thing is no instructions on how to install, but when you kind of think it through it pretty easy. Should take you about 15 to 20 min, For me to get onto the bed was kneeing the tail gate first and then standing up and when I tried to get up on my feet and stand up, almost fell and told myself falling is worth more than $500 or therapy.
