Supposed Transmission issues

Unless you,as a new Toyota Tacoma owner, have been hiding under a rock, we all know you tube is crawling with trolls dissing the Tacoma because of some issues with the new 8 speed transmission ( very few). Take a minute to listen to Tim on Pick up trucks Plus and SUV talk and hear his reasoning. Makes complete sense to me. BTW my tranny is working just fine.

I didn’t say there wasn’t. I’m saying there is no where NEAR enough reports of even the same issue to be outaged like some YouTubers are.

Took a month just to get the Taco I wanted… my tranny is on time so far.. thought I would be sad about the i4T over the v6, but it’s quite the opposite. Torque or MPG, my choice!! Been getting 30+ mpg when I ease up on the trigger.

Two motives at play here:
1 - desperate clickbaiters looking for validation.
2 - the 3rd Gen has been made obsolete in all aspects, a resulting downward trend in resale values is coming and it makes people feel better to dump on the 4th Gen.

Unfortunately, this is the society we live in. Make up outrageous lies to get everyone fired up. This is not new news. Unfortunately, the uninformed will always believe the loud voice. There's no fix as best as I can see.

As of an hour ago, I have heard a total of 2 incidents where the even gears won’t engage. The most recent In a rather dramatic post on Reddit earlier today.

Well I do have a little issue with my tacoma, Sometimes when I put the car into Drive it shifts pretty hard to D first time after when the trucks been sitting. Also when I come out of 4 HI it sometimes transfers into 2 HI hard. and other than that its perfect.
