Hmmmm. So unless thereā€™s an inch or two of clearance on the bottom of the cargo divider Iā€™m guessing itā€™s not going to work with the MX4 and a bed mat.

Thanks for posting the video.
So here is a photo about an 1 1/4ā€

Is that with the stock bed rail location? Guessing it is. If thatā€™s the case I donā€™t think it would work with the BAKflip and a bed mat.

Appreciate you posting all of this. Probably saved me a lot of hassle.

Welcome šŸ˜Š Yes that is with stock bed rail. I remember looking at some tonneau covers, and them being set up that you had to reposition or,lower the bed rails. Why would they do that? The Toyota goes into the OE bed railā€¦. Itā€™d be a deal breaker for me to buy and aftermarket if the rails need to be lowered.

The stock Toyota is a rebranded BAK according to my dealer. The rail gets lowered slightly to ensure there is adequate room for the latching mechanism and the tonneau to lay completely flat. Some of the soft tonneaus stick up a couple of inches. I'm waiting for BAKflip to come in but will probably go with a cargo net instead of a divider. I think the divider is overpriced anyway, but others may disagree.

Gotcha - I donā€™t think my OE soft tonneau cover sticks up that much. But maybe for some of the hard ones? šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

I have the OE cargo divider in my Tacoma, with the OE soft tonneau cover, has no issues. I noticed the same as you did, seems the photos of the bed divider depict the adpaters being really high. They're not, so any tonneau cover should work with the OE bed divider.

Asking a follow up on this post, the Toyota parts description says "Slides along the Tacomaā€™s deck rail system to create the space to fit your needs ā€¢ Rotates for various configurations including lying flat above cargo"

Can your rotate to lay flat with the top of the bed?

No. It doesnā€™t do that.

No it does not rotate would be nice if it did. someone else said they they read that too, I never remember reading that though - just double checked on the Canadian site, no note of it doing that.

Think that was me but it wasnā€™t for the toyota model. Was a different vendor.

šŸ¤” would have been interested in knowing who that vendor was, I wasnā€™t able to find an alternative other than the OE one. Guess in the end thereā€™s always the shower curtain rod šŸ˜‚

Wow, interesting it does read differently, picture is the same as the Canadian picture. Iā€™ll check mine again tomorrow, I mean even if it could, flip up, and lie flat above cargo area as suggested itā€™s pretty heavy to do that even though it suggests itā€™s made of light weight aluminum.

I imagine the ends are attached with a T slot nut. Which means you should be able to loosen the knob, then just rotate while the nuts stay in place. I would want to find a way to support/connect the lower section to the bed rail once lifted. I just got the basic mesh net for now. See if I want to update in the future
