I'm making an 800 mi drive home from Vegas to pickup my Trailhunter in September! Over/under my tranny solenoid shits the bed on her maiden voyage?

Man I feel bad for OP. Hope your TRD Pro is flawless for the remainder of it's life 🙏

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, unfortunate to say the least. Would you mind sharing the dealer that you purchased from? They sound like a decent dealership. I live in Phoenix, and I've not owned a Toyota in close to 30 years now and I don't trust most of the automotive dealerships here in the valley. I purchased from Camelback Toyota, but my experiences with them have been less than stellar thus far. If you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd like to find a reputable dealership for my Taco.

I'm sure you'll have your new ride back, and congratulations on our purchase!

OP look forward to updates on how soon your truck is repaired and back on the road.

This will be my first Toyota, I think these are isolated issues and they build good trucks.
I was gonna buy a Sierra as I’ve had good GMs in the past (i.e. Yukon in 250k miles only major was a transfer case).
Wanted a Taco for a while but did not like the Gen2/3 seating position and the drivetrain combo.
Mine is supposed to deliver in about 2 weeks, as a late 24 build I think it will be ok.
Hope not to be trading in for a Sierra in a year or two.

According to a Toyota tech I spoke to on a Toyota tech forum on Facebook he claims they have 9 new Tacoma’s waiting for transmissions at his dealership, I’m starting to smell a recall coming similar to the tundra problem, Toyota doesn’t want owners to be getting stranded on the side of the road and ruining their reputation. The tundra already did enough damage. I’m sure at this point there are engineers working 24/7 on this issue and how to go about coming up with a fix

Not trying to downplay the issues suffered by a few in this thread. Hopefully once the repairs are made, your experience will improve, and you’ll love your truck.

My ownership experience may go sour in the future, but so far it’s been very good. My issues are more minor annoyances, than issues.

24 TRD OR Premium
8,125 Miles. Issues, wind noise from upper back door seals, rattle driver rear door panel and alignment. I corrected the wind noise and door rattle myself. Alignment was corrected by off-road shop as local Toyota dealer tried but failed to correct. AC cycles excessively, IMO, but so far no issue. Truck has been awesome!

24 TRD Pro
1500 miles. Need to have alignment corrected, will bypass dealer and go straight to off-road shop. Same wind noise as my other truck. Will address the issue this weekend. Other than that, build quality seems excellent.

I understand losing faith in your vehicle, previously owned ‘23 Tundra TRD Pro. Had a long list of annoying issues, while monitoring engine failures. I finally decided I didn’t want to worry about being stranded on a long trip, so I sold the truck. That was difficult, as I loved the power train. At this time, I don’t have that fear with the Tacoma.
Would you be able to explain how you found out that you needed an alignment correction? It will be something for me to lookout for when I get mine soon.

Steering wheel slightly off center when driving on flat, straight roads, and outer tire wear. For the Pro, when looking at truck from the front, there’s a visual outward lean to the top of the tires, Camber is off.

So you mean by looking at the truck from the front, the front 2 tires are angled slightly outwards from each other while back tires are pointing straight?

My steering wheel is slightly off center but it tracks down the road straight

I kind of have that on my 3rd gen OR, but its very slight. Ive taken it in for routine service and they never said it was out of alignment. Im wondering if people are just splitting hairs for most of the issues that arent including the few that have had to get stuff completely replaced. Hopefully they got a lot sorted out since my truck sat at the port for a month after seeing some of these issues. Thats quality for ya

Let me clear the air for the OP. This is a thread about an issue he is having personally. Respect that. For those using this as an opportunity to convince yourself to wait for a 25 model year or purchase another vehicle entirely. Go start a wait for the 25 thread or something about buyers remorse/cancel order for the 2024 Tacoma. Not the thread to point out teething issues across the whole spectrum. Think about what these owners are going through and us members trying to help but having to defend the 24 Tacoma from people who don’t even own the truck! Everyone who has done so now looks like a selfish fool.
I appreciate you. Not trying to cause a rift between folks here, just wanting to share the experience with others in the event they come across the same thing. I love the truck so much, even after the issues. Once they are resolved I am sure I will continue to love it for a long time. I hope everyone gets the chance to actually drive one before they toss any hate around. If folks feel like they want to wait then that's their call!

Nice post and here is another shout out for @TurboTruck!

Too many forums devolve into crazy opinions and disagreement, when they really should be helpful to those of us genuinely interested in these amazing trucks.

Keep us up to date on your truck's progress and I hope to hear very soon that you have driven that bad boy home and are still in love.

See what I mean now about going on a forum and discussing issues that could end up being a lemon law situation. I didn’t know and was on a forum but before I said anything detrimental I was advised not to disclose anything. Ask moderator to remove all posts that could be a liability.
