I decided last minute to ditch a Bison order and trade my 22 Rubicon for a TRD Off Road in Bronze Oxide. I have never seen the color in person. Added parts were bed scene lighting, ARB tow hooks, TRD front skid, rock rails and spray in bedliner (which is overkill but you take what Toyota has). Looking forward to having it in a couple of weeks!

Enjoy it in good health. I liked the vibrant color of the screens in the Chevy, but I think the Taco is a better overall package.
I feel like this is a nice touch of some of the Trail Hunter and TRD Pro components minus the $9000 extra for a bulked up suspension I won’t use. Seems like a sweet spot. I’ve watched about 30 Youtube clips of the color and it seems very “shifty”. Hope I don’t get catfished😂.

No front locker in the Toyota. At least it can be had with a 6 foot bed.

What factors pulled you from the Bison to the Tacoma?

interesting, haven't seen a non-hybrid with the bed scene lighting kit yet.

Mainly GM reputation and the unlimited complaints about electrical issues, trim fitment, panel alignment…everywhere I looked there seemed to be complaints. Even the positive reviews would point out minor annoyances.

Im looking to buy and haven't ran across complaints but I just started researching other brands.

Just keep researching. Read some forums. Check 5 year depreciation, reliability scores…really any multitude of data available.

Update: Drove a TRD Pro today, ride was surprisingly rough but the hybrid power train was amazing.

My Pro isn't rough and the tires came overinflated by 5-6 psi. It could also be the Fox shock setting. It should have come with it set to 2, which gives a very nice ride. Not making excuses but my truck rides extremely well.

Not being defensive here but I do love this truck. My Pro floats on roads where my Tundra Off-Road banged and bounced, so I think the ride is amazing.

No offense meant! My first thought was shock setting, second was inflation. Also it was a shit strip of a major semi highway.
I did notice hood flutter. Interior was silent.
Calm down, apologies for lack of full report. It did ride rough but I also thought of why.

Not upset at all - I was just surprised. It was probably an overreaction brought on by too many beers. :)

Every day I drive on a road that had utility construction a few months age and was very poorly patched. It is pretty much like driving off road. The section is about 1/2 mile long and I had tried a lot of variations to make it not shake my Tundra apart - drive slower, drive faster, just the right wheel on it, or just the left. No matter what I did my OR Tundra's ride was rough and nasty.

Now I drive down it that same stretch in my Pro and I hardly feel it. It is like it isn't even there! That is why I was surprised by your comment and assumed that it must not be set up like mine. I don't doubt that the one you drove was harsh, I just couldn't understand why.
