List of Unsold 2024 Tacoma Affected by the Transmission TSB as of 11/22/24

Great list to start your search for a heavily discounted Tacoma purchase. My daughter wants to buy my new taco, so I may just seek out one of these “undesirable“ units….Solar or Bronze, 14” trd OR with upgrade package would be the target.

Interesting idea. You should be able to get serious discounts on the in-range trucks. Your chances would be good because not all that many in an given range set will fail. And if they do Toyota will fix them.

An owner on this forum just got his back after under a week and had a loaner. You wouldn't really be taking all that big of a chance.

I agree its becoming just a marketing game, tacoma world has a section just for vendors, its nice to scroll see important topics to deal with tacomas, not influencers trying to promote videos, or just sell a phone holder or glove box divider, its really become a very noticible thing , maybe admins can do somthing?

I used AI to identify the VINs of unsold trucks. What I did was use the KissMyGrits downloads, loaded them, and had ChatGPT compare them against the VIN list on the TSB, instructing it to look for a match or numerically lower values. This is around 5000 out of a total inventory of 18000. As always, I make no claim to the accuracy.

Wow- very impressive! Thanks for this. Just wondering what kind of numbers we are looking at here in Canada. I ‘m on the list but nothing yet. Only have about 2900 km on on mine but waiting to see what happens. First service next week. I’ll see if the dealer can bring up any codes. Probably not. I thought I might be affected adversely because I have an early VIN- in the 3000’s. Fingers crossed for all of you on the list.

You are not being naive. Toyota knows that most of the trucks will never have transmission problems, that is why there is just a TSB.

If Toyota thought that failures were likely they would do a recall, so just drive your truck and enjoy it - that is what I am doing.

Hawaii is never on the download for reasons I don't have an answer to. Alaska is but as far as showing affected trucks, I can't say either.

Why would anyone want to buy an affected truck?

You are not being naive. Toyota knows that most of the trucks will never have transmission problems, that is why there is just a TSB.

If Toyota thought that failures were likely they would do a recall, so just drive your truck and enjoy it - that is what I am doing.

Just because it’s on the list, doesn’t mean it’s going to fail. That’s why. My current truck is on the list and hasn’t failed.
