I've seen later builds with the new and secure cover. Planning to pursue a replacement fix with Toyota.

Mine was built in June /has the updated intake cover. Was in the QC hold group. Didn't take delivery until September.

I took delivery October 19, and my cover was changed out to the new version at the port during final QC.

Still no action on my complaint with Toyota Brand Engagement. Last follow up call ended up in a discussion of whether this is a warranty issue or just perhaps a 'goodwill' replacement. I don't care which. Semantics in terms. Toyota built a crap cover, realized it and had a redesigned cover out within a few short months of my trucks build date.
Makes me extremely suspicious as to whether the new design was already in the works.
