That is something to keep in mind, because retained value in Toyota trucks is amazing.
I drove a nicely equipped Tundra for almost 14 years and finally traded it on my Tacoma. The trade price was over 50% of what I originally paid, and Tacomas have always held their value better than even Tundras.
This is your first Tacoma @TacoScott, but is it your first truck?
The hype for the new generation Tacoma has brought in a lot of first time truck buyers. There are several vehicles that look like trucks on today's market, but are actually small SUVs with beds, like the Maverick. Those trucks...
That is a good call @JWestie. I drove my last Tundra for almost 14 years, so no need to jump into a new truck from my POV either. I tried to buy a 2023 Taco with a manual, but where I lived they were impossible to find.
A plug in hybrid is most likely next for the Tacoma and some day a battery...
My dealer adjusted the air pressure in my truck's tires from the shipping pressure to 37 psi. Although I thought it drove fine I reduced it to 32 psi yesterday and may take it down to the 30 called for later on. I often run just a bit over the recommended pressure, but only by a psi or two...
lol... The Bison is a nice truck BTW. It would have been my pick if I didn't like the Taco so much.
The Off-Road is a great choice. The TH and Pro are the built out versions of an OR that Toyota makes for lazy buyers like me. You can take it to any level you want - that is what Toyota did with...
Not upset at all - I was just surprised. It was probably an overreaction brought on by too many beers. :)
Every day I drive on a road that had utility construction a few months age and was very poorly patched. It is pretty much like driving off road. The section is about 1/2 mile long and I had...
My Pro isn't rough and the tires came overinflated by 5-6 psi. It could also be the Fox shock setting. It should have come with it set to 2, which gives a very nice ride. Not making excuses but my truck rides extremely well.
Not being defensive here but I do love this truck. My Pro floats on...
Neither of my seats do this, so I say there is obviously something wrong with the seats that do. Most of you have one seat which is fine. It isn't really a question whether this is normal.
Some dealers will sleaze out of warranty work, and they probably know zero about these seats. But in a...
My truck only has one of the known defects - a bed side top cap which is warped. My dealer ordered it before I picked it up, but it is back ordered by hundreds of units. After 10 months of production you would think that kind of stuff would be sorted out. My cowling and window trim are all...
Here is a better picture of the Pro top hat. It looks like stamped steel to me, and not cast. Aren't the ones that are failing cast? Maybe I am just remembering that wrong. and obviously I'm still a bit confused. :)
I also attached a picture of the external rear bump stop on the Fox shocks.
I don't think anyone knows exactly what availbility means. For my truck it tracked pretty closely to when it arrived at the dealership.
Sorry yours was pushed back - it is hard waiting and harder to wait longer than you were expecting. Good luck.
My last truck had several displays that you could not read with polarized glasses. I have one pair for out on the water where glare is a problem but my others are not polarized for just that reason.
Thanks @MT-Taco. For me these are the perfect compromise, projecting far enough out to be a step if needed, but not in the way like tube steps and running boards are.
That is cool @Ron - That would have saved me a ticket the second week I lived in Virginia.
I always preferred Google maps but I have been given bad directions too many times lately. Apple maps were a joke at first, but I find them very good these days. It is nice to have choices.
@JWestie I just got back from driving my 4th gen and the smile is still on my face.
On the price, there is a 2023 Limited for sale at my dealer right now for $47,400 - less power and far fewer features than a 4th gen for not a lot less money. 4th gen prices seem right to me and I bought one -...
I think you are right @Ron. It works with Apple maps and I find them more accurate these days than google maps so I have never tried that.
That change would probably happen in the Apple OS and maybe it will come along eventually.
Yeah - I saw all of the driving modes you get with the AVS - very nice.
I think the HUD should be standard or everything with the premium packages and above, and I am surprised that nicely equipped ORs don't have it.
I also like that it shows navigation prompts from Apple Car Play and Android Auto, not just the Toyota nav. It comes up at the same time as you would get voice prompts.
I have come to appreciate it in my wife's Lexus SUV and it is the same display in our Tacomas. It has all the information that...
I don't have an image handy, but it displays each turn as you get close to it.
So it is not out there all the time but when it is time to pay attention it appears with text and an arrow showing your turn.
