Corrected with updated info Aug. 19:
The new Tacomas donāt have external bump stops mounted to the frame in the front. They are internal to the shock In the Off Road. The Pro has shock mounted external bump stops I believe.
In Canada the OR Premium only comes in a 5 foot bed, and the orange is still quite rare. Mine is a regular Off Road. The 6ā bed make it feel like a real truck, looks better balanced with the long cab and is so much more useful.
At least I donāt need to get mudflaps. Must be a Canadian spec thing for them to come factory. So all I got to do is a dash cam and find out about body colour moldings. I have everything else.
My Solar Octane TRD OR ordered April 8th, the day of the Solar eclipse, has arrived at the dealer.
I expect Iāll get it next wkd or during the week. The dealer is closed on Sunday.
A few notes:
- It has chrome lug nuts, earlier Off Roads had black lug nuts. I like both, unsure which ones...
It has a truck bed, (maybe a shorter one) and will do most the same work, unless you towing a lot. I say the same thing about my old ā98 K1500, it had a 6.5ā bed with a 6500 lb tow rating.
My expensive new Tacoma will have a 6ā bed and towing rating of 6500 lbs. it will do the same work...
I think I will buy mine too. My first Toyota ever. It will be the canary that decides if I or anyone in my extended family and friends ever buys a Toyota again.
In the past Iāve have good luck with a new Ram, new VWās and most all of my used GMās.
Ironically, those are some of the brands...
I think itās just saying if debris in pan, then replace torque converter. The debris could have been from the failed transmission parts. However I do think it possible it was a run of bad transmissions from Aisin. Maybe due to a manufacturing glitch such as debris. If it was an engineering...
š¤ I hope Iām ok when I get my truck. My iPhone is a 5 year old XR (10) but I do keep it updated to the latest software.
Canāt afford to update it yet, spent my spare money on Tacoma accessories š
Lol, this the lofty space a Toyota holds in the minds of the general public as to quality and reliability. To be fair, well earned over the past 50 years.
I think all of the technical advances and electronic gizmos makes them more efficient and better but itās more to go wrong. A mint 1987...
The Gen 3 was not really a whole new generation. I consider it a Gen 2.5, with the automatic hunting for gears and same uncomfortable seating position as the Gen 2. Iād hope it had no major teething issues.
The Gen 4 is all new and some of the teething issues seem unlike Toyota. Youād think...
I didnāt think I would, having heard Toyotaās reputation, but I may have to purchase extended warranty for this, my first Toyota.
Toyota fanās always knocked the domestic brands (and likely had reason to in the past) but reading these issues sure brings Toyota down to earth for me.
Iāve had GM...
I think most of his points are valid. We shouldnāt make excuses on quality when we are giving our hard earned money to a corporation for a truck.
Many critics are haters and upset because they canāt afford a TRD Pro, but this guy is factual good or bad and backs up his points.
The upgrades...
I did not get one with my 2021 VW Gti, they did print a sheet out with the specs. I donāt know if the traditional ones are done, usually just a printed sheet of paper now I think.
