I ended up taking $37K and traded it for a 2025 Crown Signia Limited at $4K under sticker. I needed to go with something shorter for my wife to be able to get in and I did not like the truck options (Hyundai Santa Fe & Ford Maverick). So still Toyota but no longer a Taco.
I doubt I'll be...
I'm with you there. I went to 3 dealers in my area expecting that one of them would offer more for my 2024 TRD Sport in trade but they all came in at $37K. $37K for a truck with only 5,000 miles that had a $50K sticker less than a year ago. That is certainly not retaining value.
Except I didn't pay sticker. Depreciation is based off of the sticker price, not what I paid. Even buying my truck $3K below sticker, my depreciation was 21.2%, which is still more than the industry yearly average & I've only had the truck for 8 months. Who knows what happens in the next 4 months?
I am not defending the original poster nor bitching about my truck, but the article you posted does say, "This year, below-average reliability ratings for the redesigned Tacoma pickup truck, the full-sized Tundra pickup, and the bZ4X electric vehicle hurt Toyota’s score."
And it is true that...
I had this happen today driving in a snow squall and I am pretty sure those sensors are behind the black rectangular piece of plastic, shown just above the light bar in this photo.
I don't know who did your dealer prep, but they failed. That plastic sticky sheet covering your shifter display is supposed to be peeled off during dealer prep.
Did they leave it on other places? Your whole dash is usually covered with that stuff and it's all supposed to be gone when you pick...
Manual transmissions are a young person's game. I'll never buy another if I can help it. I'll never forget that time I got stuck in traffic going to Cape Cod one Friday afternoon with a manual transmission in my car. By the time we got to our destination after several hours of stop & go trafiic...
Toyota's hybrid vehicles are classified as SULEV (Super Ultra-Low Emssions Vehicle). I don't have a hybrid Taco but on all of my other Toyota hybrids, this sound is the truck pumping hot radiator fluid into an insulated storage tank. This is done so that when you start the vehicle "cold", it...
Toyota has done this for decades. I agree that it can be pretty annoying.
You shouldn't have to turn down the volume when you get off the highway though. There should be a setting for adaptive volume control, where it turns up the volume the faster you go and lowers it when you slow down. I...
As I said in another thread about this, the hybrid models have to have a locking gas cap because it's really just a switch to tell the truck to de-pressurize the gas tank before you pop the gas cap. Hybrids have pressurized gas tanks. Regular gas models do not.
I don't miss the automatic...
I've owned quite a few Toyota hybrids and because of the regenerative braking, I've never actually needed to replace the brake pads. I have had to get the brakes redone on one of my Priuses because the rotors were badly rusted at 110,000 miles from lack of use. :)
$1700. Ouch. As much as I like their look, I think I'll stay with my cloth seats, which are better in the cold of New England. Those leather seats can get very cold. :)
Specific to your situation...
What type of music files are on your Zume player? mp3? ALAC? FLAC? wma? I find mp3 to be more universal. I don't know if the truck player can play all formats.
Can you "see" these files when you hook the Zume player up to a PC? They should show up in Windows...
FWIW, I bought a batch of little right angle USB-C to USB adapters so that I could use a "regular" USB thumb drive (much cheaper and easier to find) with the added benefit of it hanging down the side of the display rather than sticking out of the side.
