You just totally moved the goalposts lol…

you made multiple claims about the ranger xlt vs the off-road. I proved that
you are either misinformed or lying.

You also plainly said a PREMIUM package would make the price increase further on the upper trims.

lets start with your original claims before opening up a whole different argument.

1. A loaded ranger lariat is not 8k less than a raptor, it’s 4K less. It’s $51k. Did you see the build link above or did you decide to pretend it doesn’t exist?

2. You cannot directly get certain features from the ranger in the Tacoma and vice versa so you purposely loading up a Tacoma off road while comparing to a base xlt is disingenuous

3.You CANNOT buy a raptor lol. There’s 1 per dealership. Enjoy the price increase next year or the year after when you’re finally able to get one.

no one is fan boying. I’m calling out blatant misinformation so people can make their decisions with actual facts. Thanks for playing.
It's not because you completely misunderstood my message, that it makes me make a different point. What you are referring is when I said "TH and TRD Pro with premium package will of course be much more expensive." What I meant with that is that a TH and TRD Pro with whatever comes in the premium package (wether it's included or added as a package is not the point) will be vastly more expensive than the $55K TRD Offroad that I just configured with premium package. The reason being they add key off-road components. I was trying to say that the TRD Pro / TH will be much more than 55K (and therefore much more than the Raptor) but apparently that's too hard to understand.

Now to answer your 1, 2, and 3:

1) Yes I clicked your link. Your configured Lariat is $49K without shipping. Raptor is $55.3K without shipping. How is that $4K less? That's 6.3K less, who is lying now?

2) I never ever compared the Tacoma to a base XLT. You are confusing me with another forum member. Oooooops, well done!

3) Availability of the Raptor is not the point. TRD Pro will be equally hard to find.
I am comparing prices not availability. Also, I could order a loaded ZR2 today for $50K, have something comparable to a TRD Pro for $5K less than a TRD Offroad (and probably $10K less than the Pro). That also includes dual lockers and much more suspension travel than any Tacoma.
This agains proves how grossly overpriced the new Tacoma is.

I am not saying it's a bad truck at all. I am saying Toyota knows the Tacoma is very popular and they charge a huge premium for that so you end up paying the same for much less capability, or paying much more money more for the same capability, versus the competition.

a toyota - Maverick on the way
does the base SR… be a little more honest and post the non detuned engine numbers

and is the engine truly all you’re comparing to the maverick?
Nope, I actually compared a lot and left the engine out completely. I was answering an engine question for someone else but he deleted that, so now it doesnt make sense.

Good find. It confirms that the moonroof makes you loose 1.7in of headroom and that it is included standard in the TH/TRD Pro. A shame that they force you to buy that for us tall people.
Also has over an inch less of legroom than the 2023 :/

Also a shame that the TH comes standard with the useless bed rack from the reveal. Most people on the forum who were interested in the TH were hopping not to be force to pay for that rack.

I wished they included curb weight, GVWR and payloads at least for the available trims because that is one last key element missing for some people.

About damn time. Still want to see what the price of the iForce Max is. From my understanding reading the package descriptions if you want the 360 camera on the TRD Off Road / Sport Trims you need to get the expensive premium packages? I only see the PVM/MTM being mentioned on those.

Gonna agree, with all these packages and the way Toyota does manufacturing. Its gonna be a pain to get exactly what you want.

My mind is blown. $55K for a TRD off road with premium package. This is the price of a Ford Ranger Raptor which comes with infinitely better offroad capability and same tech, and much stronger engine. Are you telling me a TRD Pro or TH with the hybrid will be 65K?

Shocking really.
...and the Raptor is a Ford, a brand in decline with more quality control issues/recalls than can be recounted...

I'm not sure how much I trust any of these documents anymore to be honest. So many "official" documents that clash and go against each other. I'm going to assume they made an exception for the sport + manual and added the softex seats because my dealers confident it has softex and videos have shown manuals with the softex seats. All of this is so confusing 😂 Guess I'll never be certain of anything until it arrives

Just got sent basically the same link via text from Toyota...looks like the same configurator link with some exceptions....however it still looks unfinished. Can't choose color and some other items on certain models

DAMN. Almost $55k for an OR?? And that's not even with the iForce Max!!

I was hoping the TRD PRO would be less than that. Several professional publications listed an expected price for the 2024 TRD Pro at $50k to $52k.

WTF is the Pro going to start at? $60k?? If so, F Toyota... I'm out.

It will be about an $3,000 charge. That is what it is on other similar vehicles like the Grand Highlander. I don’t think it’ll be the same as tundra.

Yes… I was referring to both yourself using the base lariat and the other user a base xlt as an example. Mixing up who used what example doesn’t change the argument. It’s disingenuous to load up one and not the other. The features are no way comparable.

if you are only here for price, sure go with the Colorado lol… we’ve known it was cheaper for quite some time now.

Not even responding to the rest of this slop after you claiming there will be ONE trd pro per dealer in the country (same as raptor as you claimed). Not remotely true. Neither is the majority of what yovue written on multiple comments.

Oh and if you are so certain the TRD Pro won’t be as hard to find then how many allocations are there? And how many people on waitlists? The fact is that my dealer in a major city told me I would never get a TRD Pro before 3 years because they have 60 people on the waitlist and based on previous model TRD Pro allocations for that dealership that was 2.5-3Y of wait. This was back in May at the reveal. Imagine the waitlist today at most dealers…
Back then I went on the list for TH as it was only 9 people for that trim.
Not to mention the Ranger Raptor might see a lot more allocations after job 1. This was the initial run and they have super slow production due to the strike so of course they won’t allocate a ton. And the demand is much less for the RR, waitlists not nearly as long as TRD Pro. Well, that could change when people see the TRD Pro price LOL.

The reality is I could actually get a Raptor easier and sooner than a TRD Pro in my city. In fact my main personal issue with the Raptor is not availability. It’s the 400HP V6 as I would rather have a hybrid for better efficiency and range. Not for $10K over though… so I guess we will see what the TH cost.
