I'm been having some software issues too
2024 Trd Off Road... About 3 times now I've gotten the rear seat belt icon stuck on the screen it could be there for 5 minutes or until I shut off the car... Nobody in the back seat...

On a side note I love the truck so far but the cooling fan seems to come on all the time is this normal it could be even 2 minutes after starting... I haven't experienced this on other vehicles but if I park I can hear it turn on and off maybe twice in 5 mins ... I live in Alaska our highest temperature so far this year was 59°

think it was in this thrad as well somewhere.... we are all noticing the cooling fan cycle - it is odd and frequent.
Nice work. I find it interesting that there are no dust caps on those connectors. You are right though, would love to eventually get a wiring diagram for the 2024s. Have one for my 2000 Tacoma. Valuable info not only for modifications but for troubleshooting.
I’m going to make a separate post. I’ve been a Ford mechanic for 35 years so I know a few things. I have noticed on my Tacoma when the climate control is just set on vent mode auto AC off and defrosters off, my electric engine cooling fan is on at all times along with the AC compressor cycling. I’m trying to get people to confirm by changing a setting changing this particular setting on my truck doesn’t change anything not sure if it’s a software glitch on my truck or if it’s normal operation. So basically the AC is never really off.

When I have the ac off & the defroster off along with auto off, just have vehicle air on in vent mode.
The ac compressor cycles & my electrical ENGINE cooling fan is on, & vents are blowing ice cubes so ac is actually still on.
Dealer techs didnt check it out but service writer claims thats normal, the system is designed to do whatever it takes to get you to requested temp, even though ac is off & auto is off...

Theres a guy on another forum who claims he did what I described below & now his ac functions like an old school system, vent air is just that, no ac involved, his ac compressor isnt cycling, his electric engine cooling fan isnt running...
Before he toggled that selection his truck air system operated just like mine.

Can anyone else confirm, whats happening with their trucks?

Hit the gear icon at the bottom left of the infotainment screen and then went to vehicle customizations tab,
from there there’s multiple options, lights, door control, climate, and utility, went to climate and turned off the AC auto mode operation. As its defaulted on.
The compressor still cycling, electric engine cooling fan still running
After I determined that didnt resolve the issue, I put the toggle back to default. When I have the ac off & the defroster off along with auto off, just have vehicle air on in vent mode.

In my MID display I have the 3rd selection set as tpms on the left and the compass on the right. The compass stays put but the tpms goes to ECO occasionally but eventually goes back to tpms. It's a surprise every time I start the truck.
The screen display above the heater, initially when I selected setting...vehicle customization...I had no options. I've had the truck 2 weeks now and I tried vehicle customization yesterday....I now have options. Lights, locks etc. Do these trucks have over the air updates?

I hope they get software updates... Even just for checking tire pressure I can't find a spot to put it that it doesn't disappear

If you have the Limited trim with "AVS - Adaptive Variable Suspension" there is a "Custom" setting but it will not let you change or modify it. The controls are locked and do not work.

So the rest of you can put the tire pressure display on the left side? The options I have available on the left and right side differ drastically. For instance I only have the option for tire pressure, fuel economy, drive info, trip odometers on the right side. There’s a few other differences but trying to keep it brief. I bought my Tacoma on April 5th. Anyone also seeing these limited options on the left side of the MID?

So when you are in that menu click to the left or right again and you can select and deselect what you wanna be able to show on that menu. For example of you are on the left screen click left again and it will allow you to check and uncheck the options to choose from. hope that makes sense.

Yes that did the trick! I never would have noticed that in my own. Thanks!

The climate control display is no longer showing the temp

I seemed to have stumbled across either a software defect or something of that nature with regards to the "Distance to Empty" calculation and the refuel indicator light on my 24 Tacoma Off Road.

Example) Today, I refueled with approximately 13 miles remaining until empty as displayed on my dashboard. But when refueling, I was only able to put like 13~ gallons into the gas tank, which would indicate there's about 5 gallons left in the 18.2 gallon tank according to the manual. Currently I'm averaging 23.1 mpg, which after refilling should calculate to about 420~ miles until empty on a full tank. However it reported about 320miles until empty, which implies its calculating off of about 13 gallons. This seems like this is a software defect around when that indicator displays as well as the calculation around the "Distance to Empty". Reading other various online forums this seems to also potentially involve other Toyota vehicles like the Grand Highlander as well. I've message Toyota, but they seem to just send me general responses thinking I'm questioning the fuel economy that I'm getting or how its calculated. Anyone else seeing that their Distance to empty calculation is also wildly off?

Additionally, I've tried resetting the Average Fuel estimate as well as the Trip A in my dashboard, but the calculation still seems off by 100 miles, though I can't remember if I reset those right after I filled up or not. 1st time Tacoma and Toyota owner, so not sure if there's some quirk to their software that I'm unaware of, but as a professional software tester, it seems like a software bug to me that could be related to the digital gauge cluster.

My biggest issue is the inconsistent connection on wireless Android Auto. My phone has never failed to connect on my wife's Honda so it's definitely a Toyota issue.

Am I the only one who thinks that the ECO gauge is backwards? I assumed that a bigger green bar meant that I was using less gas (being "green") when in reality, the bar goes up the harder you hit the gas.

I've owned several Toyota hybrids and they all have some sort of ECO display that swing into the green "ECO" zone when you don't get on the gas pedal or when you coast. The way this gauge operates in the Tacoma, it's pretty useless at showing how economically you are driving.

Watching, I have the same problem.
My MID was:
1) turbo boost / navigation
2) oil temps / tire pressure
3) traction / inclinometer
My 2nd page tire pressure kept changing to something else like nav. I flipped 2nd page to tire / oil temps to see if it stays.

Cooling fan issue of it always turning on has been fixed for me... Have to use the infotainment settings and under climate turn off ac/auto... Now my cooling fan isn't always running every 2 minutes

Anyone ever try to contact Toyota for the TPMS display issue? I tried but they directed me to the dealership. The dealership said there is nothing they can do since it's a software bug. Each side passes the buck to the other. Super frustrating!
