Hey Kev! Thanks for the business! We revamped the 10-pin adapter recently and it looks a little more like this. Lets reconnect in a few weeks and I can give you one of the new beta test Dongar PRO units and the updated harness!Any updates to parking mode adaptor @Dongar?
Been using the 10 pin adaptor and it's great (just needs a little more length next time) but seeing if there is an ETA for the "new" adaptor
I currently have your adapter for my Viofo 2 channel camera. I'd be up for beta testing.Hey sorry for being absent! It's been too hectic and I have notifications turned off—too many messages on all the forums we sponsor! We ran into a ton of delays... it turns out USB-C is wayyyy more complicated than you'd think because most of the Asia-based dashcam companies do not use real USB-C implementations, e.g you can't power most USB-C dashcams using actual USB-C ports, like the ones already in your Taco!!! We went above and wayyy beyond (thanks to our superstar engineers in Europe) with the electrical design here, to offer true 5V/9V/12V output, the ONLY dashcam adapter on the market to do it.
Anyways! We're in the final tooling stages for the entire product! Meanwhile I'm doing last minute firmware testing and will have free units for beta testing in the next 3-4 weeks. Little preview:
Field testing PARKING MODE in our '24 Tacoma with a Vantrue N5 (4 cameras!) and a Nextbase 320XR (dual cameras!) simutaneously . Yes, you can run up to 2x Dongar PRO dashcam adapters on any TRD / TH / Limited or SR5 (w/ Prem Pkg) or 1x for SR5/SR!

Looks incredible, can't wait for the release! I will throw my name in the ring if you are looking for additional beta testers.Hey sorry for being absent! New Here, first time posting but cutting straight to the point because I am hoping to finish up this install asap so I can utilize the parking mode function for my Vantrue N4. Do you have any update on a good spot to ground the camera? I looked through the rest of the thread but couldn't find it, not sure if I just missed it or not. Also, does the passenger footwell plastic cover not fit back on with the fuse tap plugged in, or is just the small plastic cover with the fuse list?I checked out the interior fusebox on the 4th generation Tacoma to try out a couple of dashcam installation options. I got both a BlackVue dashcam (3-wire, with parking mode) as well as a traditional hardwire kit (2-wire, ignition-only) working….
Skipping to the result…. Unfortunately the interior fusebox on the 2024 Tacoma (TRD OR gas model…. I’ll update after I confirm w/ a hybrid) is located under two plastic covers. There’s not enough clearance to put the plastic covers back on over a fuse holder (aka ‘add-a-circuit’ or ‘fuse taps’). As such, you must modify the plastic cover, or simply keep them off. This is a huge bummer for anybody attempting to use a fuse-tap style hardwire kit or dashcam!!
Accessing 2024 Tacoma fusebox:
2024 Tacoma Possible Fuses for accessory installation. Do you own research and double check your own vehicle as these can and will change depending on model year, trim level, etc!
Low profile mini fuses can be pulled by needlenose pliers. Install fuse-tap.
Original fuse usually goes into lower position. Only use fuses in this position with the designated OEM rating. Dashcam hardwire kits / BlackVue uses upper position … 3A in this hardwire kit example.
Suitable ground points are also slim pickings... There's this nut which turns out to be captive to a washer and not ideal for a fork spade as it’s also slotted behind. I’d recommend adding another nut on top.
slotted behind nut/washer...means you can't secure a fork spade behind it.
To be continued.
There's not really a good solution for the ground. And neither footwell plastic cover or fusebox cover fit back on. There's literally zero clearance.New Here, first time posting but cutting straight to the point because I am hoping to finish up this install asap so I can utilize the parking mode function for my Vantrue N4. The good news is our new parking mode adapter ships next week and works perfectly with the Vantrues! I've been running my N5 for months now... check out my post history. The videos from the user testing are starting to drop on youtube:
There should be a 5 pin inside you're over counsel that's used for the factory dash cam. That's how I did it with the Donger ProI have an SR trim, so no auto-dimming rearview mirror.
What is the best/easiest way to power a dash cam in my situation?
Is there another power source/adapter from Dongar @Dongar or elsewhere?
For simplicity, can I just run a power cable from the 12V outlet, or from a USB-C outlet?
Thank you!
