I made a Business Intelligence (BI) report out of the publicly available data from the Toyota search page. This is from the KMG data. He scrapes the Toyota page once per night and has several years of snapshots of that data. I've combined all the snapshots to infer when something was sold. eg) a VIN shows up for 3 days then on the 4th day it's no longer in the data, I assume it sold in 3 days. I also do some cleanup and normalization of the data, such as consistent naming of Colors.
This has the answers to common questions such as
This dataset is only from the USA, and only from the known dealers who are included in the Toyota search tool. As it's been reported Toyota sold 192k Tacomas in 2024 in the US, but my data has about 125k. That could be due to that my data doesn't include any 3rd Gens 2023 models that may have sold the year 2024 or maybe some counted as sales but never appeared on the Toyota search tool. I fleet sales don't get added to the inventory search on toyota.com, to account for some of the difference. Also, Toyota Hawaii and Toyota Puerto Rico are on different systems so that inventory is not included.
If you have a 2024, you can try your VIN to see if it comes up with the correct information. Would be helpful to spot-check the dataset.
It would have been helpful to have this when I was in the market, instead I was using the Excel sheets that were available and filtering in there. I might consider making a version for 2025 Tacomas that can update automatically. Let me know if that would be helpful to you! Unfortunately ,this data is only available after production and does not include allocations which happen weeks before the real VIN is established... But it may still help to see trends that are happening and help you negotiate your purchase... like they say knowledge is power! (rumor has it that the feed might get cut off... but they've been saying this for a while now.
Enjoy, That link again:

This has the answers to common questions such as
- Which trims are most common in which regions?
- Which colors are most common?
- How many Tacoma are manual transmissions?
- What time of year is the dealer inventory the highest?
- Which trims take the longest to sell?
- What is the average MSRP for each trim?
- How many Pre Runners were produced?
