I'm new here and would like to get the communities critique, advice and recommendations for my 2025 TRD Offroad build. As you can see in the photos, I have a 3 inch lift upfront and approximately 1.5-2 inch lift in the rear (depending on cargo load). I have 285/75 R17 tires running on Method 305s with a +25 offset. I don't want to sound like a tire size queen but I feel like my tires are too small for this lift height. I'm thinking of switching over to 35 x 12.5 tires for a more beefy and aggressive look. However, different people I trust have given me different advice. Get the 35s. Keep your 285s but get a more negative wheel offset for more poke. Just drop your lift by an inch and keep the tires. Go 37s or go home. My head is spinning with all these options. What do you all think?

FYI: this is my daily commuter here in LA but I go camping every other week on BLM land throughout CA and AZ so offroad capability is a must.

Your truck looks fine. Using my Pro as the "benchmark" for aesthetic proportions, I have 1/2" from top of rear tire to the bottom of the frame rail and about 2/3 of the upper control arm is visible. It looks like you have about 1" from the top of the rear tire to the bottom of the frame rail and about 3/4 of your upper control arm is visible. Probably 1/2" more tire to fender gap than I have, so pretty close. A bigger tire would make the fenders looked over stuffed and might even hit at extreme flexion. And definitely don't go with more poke.

Thanks for providing the comparisons. I actually went to my nearby Toyota dealerships to view the TRD Pros and get these measurements myself but they are all sold out. Your approximate measurements are helpful. Thanks!

Looks great! Not sure 35’s are going to do much for you? Maybe a 1/2-3/4 inch more ground clearance? Full flex your good now, but 35’s are probably going to rub.

I think it looks great as is! Do you mind posting close up pics from left or right front and rear so I can see how much poke you have? I’ve been debating in my head whether to go with the Method 305 +25 or 703’s in a +35 with either 285x75x17 or 35x12.5. I have a 25 off road hybrid and getting the Westcott precollar. I don’t want to do any trimming though so I may have to go with the 285’s. Just trying to figure out if the poke is that much of a difference between +25 and +35 and if I’d have to trim body parts to fit 35’s.

I honestly think it looks perfect. I had this exact same dilemma with my Gen 3 for a while and then fell in love with the look. I think yours looks awesome. BTW, which suspension lift are you running?

I'm using the Fox 2.5 Elite Performance with DSC adjusters. I was going to go for the King shocks but I would have had to wait a week. These were in stock so I bit the bullet.

I'll get you that pic in the next couple of days. In the meantime, I can tell you my front tires are just a few millimeters inside the wheel well (no poke) and rear tires appear flush with the fender. I have 285/75 R17 Nito Ridge Grapplers so the tire width is 11.26 inches. If I went with the same tire but in 35 x 12.5 then my added width (~1.24 inch) should get me around a half inch of poke. If you want to stay inside the wheel well then go with the +35 offset. Check out the Independence Overland video link below (around 1:00 mark) where the guy explains why he chose +35 offset for his Gen4 Trailhunter. He does mention that the Trailhunter and TRD Pros have fenders that are about an inch wider than the TRD OR so keep that in mind. I also heard in a Mark Brenner video that the ORs are slightly wider than the SR5s so the SR5 poke should be more noticeable for a given tire than the OR.

Which ever way you go, post pics of your setup!

Your truck looks great, just the way it is. If that's your daily driver, I don't know I wouldn't do anything you can't afford to replace. Bigger tires equal steeper angles, more vibration. Also, they already get horrible fuel mileage to start with. Regearing is recommended with anything larger than a thirty three inch tire. Talk to Twan at R4T he set me up with a sweet Total Chaos King suspension kit for my 24
i am an old man. I've been to the end of the spectrum and back with these tacos.
Fat tire, big tire, now i finally figured it out tall skinny, 255 80 17's. Or a true 33x9.5

Here are some front and back pics of the driver side. Now that I look at these it looks like both front and back are flush with the outermost fender.

Thanks for your comments. I agree with your assessment. I think I will keep my current setup and use the money for other mods. Too late for me on the King suspension. I already paid a ton for my current Fox setup. If I ever get new suspension though I'm going with a long travel kit!!!

Most 35s are only 34.5 anyways while most 285/75r17s are 34. So you wont see much difference. I wouldnt bother with that little bit of an increase.
You're right on the height but I was thinking the extra width would visually fill out more of the wheel well. My current tires are 11.26 inches wide but the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs are 12.8 inches for their 35 x 12.5 R17. I live in LA. Its a looks thing. However, I've decided to stay with my current setup. It's functional and doesn't look bad. Maybe when re-gearing for these new 4th gens becomes available I will revisit this larger tire issue again.

I forgot to mention I switched out the OEM rear suspension coils with Eibach coils (PartNum: E30-82-105-02-02). These are meant to handle loads in the 200-400 pound range which is where I'm at when out camping. The OEM coils sag way too much under load as do the Icon springs which I also tried. However, adding a 1 inch spacer along with the Icon springs (0.5 inch) looked great on my truck giving it a total of 1.5 inch lift up to about 250 pounds. After that the sagging becomes more and more noticeable. For now, these Eibachs are my best solution.
