That setup looks great!

Are the tires flush with the fenders? I would like to run this setup if the tires/wheels are flush and not poking.

I installed a full-size 285/70 r17 under the bed. It fits. The tires are wider but honestly I think it kinda looks badass with the bigger spare. It looks like it might impact my departure angle, but the tires are built to support the weight of the truck and they might even protect my trailer hitch a bit. Definitely it will get me home if I ever need it. Stock suspension and wheels, no mods to exhaust. Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

I have not, I read on another thread that it might fit aired down and with the axle dump exhaust installed.

I haven't seen a picture of someone actually installing a full size down there yet though.
I fit a 33.2” tire under the trail hunter zero issue

285/70/17 is easy mcpeasy - requires no mods at all. Bigger question is can you get a 285/75/17 with no mods

Decided to pull the trigger on my 285/70/r17 tire upgrade. Ended up going with the Nitto Terra Grappler G3s and I'm happy to report they fit great! I'm headed out to the trails on 3/1 so I'll confirm that there's no rub but from I can tell there's plenty of room.

to yall that have upgraded to bigger tires, did you upgrade tie rods or control arms? if not did you notice any extra wear and tear or sloppy performance? I'm a little nervous about getting bigger tires but I want them so bad. thanks in advance!

For 33” 285s? Nah. No way. That’s tame. Maybe, maybe as you approach 35” and even then it’s more like a long term wear and tear issue than anything imminent.

I’m crazy conservative on this stuff and I’ve had 275/70/18s (33.43” x 11”) E loads and now 285/70/17 (32.8” x 11.5”) SL - 60 and 53 pounds. The lighter 285s seem to be gentler tires but like neither of them seems crazy to me. I may go to 34” in the same weight range and I will not be concerned at all. If you run 35x12.5s maybe your bushings wear out faster but these trucks are generally pretty stout.

This looks awesome! I had some bad experiences with the G2's wet weather performance in the past, but the updated G3's look much more promising and seem to fix those issues. This will likely be the route I go once the stock tires wear out. Interested to hear how they work out for you!
