Would have like retracting mirrors for price of 24 OR HYBRID. I MODIFIED THE EYEGLASS HOLDER WITH FELT. GLASSES RATTLED. PUT RETRAX TONNEAU RETRACTABLE ON 5’ bed. Love it but sometimes it takes up precious 11”s. I do love them 93% of the time. Crossbars for skis and use for rod holders. They’re great bet rest to come off if loading bigger gear and furniture etc.

Not exactly a regret, but two things I didn't realize weren't the same in the Canadian versions:

1. No digital rear view mirror
2. No power tailgate

Apparently those are not a thing up north.

I just installed a new set of wheels with 285/70R17 C-rated A/T III's, and I don't necessarily regret that, but I did expect that the factory TRD OR suspension would handle it better than it does. The ride quality has suffered, particularly on harsh pavement imperfections. I was hoping to keep fully stock suspension, but now I'm wondering if I need to upgrade the shocks which is a real bummer. I wasn't THRILLED with the ride quality even on the stock wheels/tires, but I expect I'm going to find it kind of annoying now.

Definitely going to upgrade from the leveling kit to a robust suspension kit. If y'all have any suggestions they are welcomed.

I enjoyed reading everyone’s comments. I went back and forth between the off road and trailhunter packages. I wound up on the trailhunter because of the availability and color at the time. None of the dealers had OR packages with the premium packages. I took off the chase bar and added the retractable bed cover and front runner load bars for my fishing rods. I’m more of a surf fishing beach bum than an overlander. It seems like such a waste to scrap the chase bar but it was useless. I probably could have been money ahead to have waited on an OR. Although I was going to modify to have an axel dump exhaust. I’ll run the factory tires down before that mod. The dealer installed a bed extender the swings over when the tailgate is down. I’m trying to talk myself into keeping it but I’ve found it in the way more than useful. Long way to got to say Toyota and the dealer were who added the items I dislike most. But I do love my 25 trail hunter.

Leveling kit then timbren springs. The Timbren springs don't even make contact with the axle until the back end has already sagged an inch. The leveling kit and the Timbrens are not compatible. Do one or the other. I'm taking the timbrens out and going with the an air bag suspension this weekend.
I had this same issue. I contacted Timbren directly and they sent me a taller stop that worked much better.

Yeah, that's what got me thinking about all this. I might sell the backflip and go for a decked system. At first I thought it wouldn't be useful but now I'm thinking it might offer more flexibility than the bakflip.

And as far as the side steps, my rock sliders are my favorite purchase, both for the looks and the utility of them!
Which sliders do you have?

The smartcap, it leaks and due to the design, I think it will always require some maintenance to keep it from leaking.

Wish I has purchased the Alu-Cab Contour.

I have an OR premium but if money wasn't a factor I totally would have gone with the trailhuner. Totally agree on the chase bar. Mostly a waste. I could also do without the snorkel but that wouldn't stop me from getting it. I'm sure you'll love it as you get to drive it more. Yesterday was my 1-year bday with the truck and I still love it like if I just got it!

I originally wanted the TH but Toyota delayed it longer than I was willing to wait, and then after I saw the price tag... i had a hard enough time justifying more than $50k for a midsized truck, but over 65k? Not gonna happen. I figure with the exception of the better suspension and a few other goodies, I can build a TRD OR Premium to my liking for less than a stock TH.

I bought the Icon stage 1 kit and like the lift at 2.5”, but have had a couple of issues(tie rods hit the springs at close to full lock, and rear coils make noise when hitting large bumps) and Icon customer support has been pretty bad. Zero response. That said, I’d definitely do the suspension vs spacer lift.
