Any OEM Toyota bed extenders on electric tailgates out there?

Hey folks,

Is anyone with an electric tailgate and the OEM or similar bed extender able to share details/pics on how the extender is secured while extended with the tailgate down?

Details:
I had the OEM bed extender on my G2 Taco. I would manually yank the tailgate handle to open the tailgate's side latches when disconnecting the bed extender's retaining straps - they could be push/clicked in when connecting. I picked up a LOX ROX matte black bed extender for my G4 primarily because it looks very similar to the OEM, uses the OEM punched drill guides [no measuring/marking necessary for mounting brackets] and costs a fraction as much. I can't figure out how to actuate the tailgate latches short of opening/closing the tailgate. I can obviously secure it elsewhere but am still very curious how this is done with the OEM Toyota kit..

I just installed mine with the electric lift tailgate. When you lock the straps in place, it prevents from the the tailgate to go up. Instead, when you push the "open\close" tailgate button, it releases the latch so you can remove them.
