I said I’m going to sue Toyota unless someone can show me somewhere where it says ,”if equipped with factory installed brake controller”!

Yeah, not sure how you're supposed to "properly equip" a truck that can tow 6500 lbs if they don't provide a way to connect a trailer brake. I asked them if they would install one and they said no. I just bought the tekonsha wireless and it works fine. Maybe Sagebrush works for Toyota

Properly equipped would be buying one with a trailer brake from the factory. Also, some have used either a Bluetooth controller or wired in a brake control like they used to do years ago.

I think you're missing the point here. The dealers (from other posts on this thread) are telling customers that the brake controller plug is in the harness. If I had not been so foolish to have believed him, I would have made him show me. Then maybe I would have purchased one with the integrated brake controller. I did buy a blue tooth one.

Yes. My manual verifies my truck can tow 6400# and has a tow package. So
What? Still…no brake controller so what good is 6400# tow capacity? I don’t plan on boating any time soon.
No, your truck is not equipped to tow 6400 lbs. it needs the brake controller. You can use a Bluetooth one, or do an old school install from scratch.

Sorry. You’re misinformed. According to my Model Code number found on the inside of the drivers side door my truck is rated to tow 6400#. See attached photo. I’m not sure why you’re arguing with me. I bought a curt echo and there’s no way to hard wire the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 I have. End of story.

You have a Curt Echo. This is a brake controller, correct? Your truck is equipped to tow 6400 lbs. you have equipped this truck to tow. I don’t see your point.
