If I were a betting man, I would say this is just a miscommunication and OP is talking about the software update that limits the torque or whatever it was that causes this issue in those weird situations. Not an actual new and improved diff.
Hard to tell from his sentence. You’re probably right. Only Sheldon knows. :)

Does your paperwork reference the software update? I'm thinking that maybe there are some part numbers, etc... that will help guide us when we ask for the update. Clearly dealers aren't doing their homework.
No, I have nothing showing there was an update on my truck, do you know if I play with the settings I can maybe get a software version number for you?

@Adam is it possible for you to return to the same office road location and drive the same trail to verify that the software and hardware upgrades did in fact resolve the potential issue?

Not sure the guys title, but the top dog at the location I went to. They could have serviced the diff, im pretty sure ADD is serviceable. But they put a whole new differential in. The guy said 1. Updated hardware and 2. Updated software. Can’t really verify either

Technically I could but the conditions would be dramatically different. And since a pretty specific set of conditions is necessary to bring about the issue, it wouldn’t really be conclusive to me

I’ll get back to you on this if I find anything concrete on the paperwork. But if memory serves it was pretty generic and frustratingly nondescript

Fair enough, my concern is more about the service writer, and wondering if there truly is a software update. Enjoy your truck!!

The warranty/repair invoice should have part numbers for what was replaced. When referenced, the new part numbers should say replaces/supersedes xxx-xx. Can you post the part numbers?
