Build Week vs Delivery Date

I don't think anyone knows exactly what availbility means. For my truck it tracked pretty closely to when it arrived at the dealership.

Finally - truck came in Friday....picking it up today. For other TRD Pro owners, what the first items I should consider? I'm looking at a few things such as the amp for the JBL stereo system, the TRD running boards (may have the ones that come on it for sale soon if anyone is interested), ceramic coating....any other Must haves?

Congrats on your Pro!

Next Monday my truck is getting PPF, which I think is important, particularly for the shiny black flairs, front end and the body sides. I have ordered sliders for my truck and soon I will get a tonneau. That's it for now.

I would like to improve the sound system, but not sure if an amp is the way to go, or if more drastic measures are required.

There are a lot of good ideas already posted on this forum, which is where I have done a lot of my research. I love this part of making my new truck truly my own.

It sounds like the curse of the Trailhunter strikes again. At least a QC hold would better than them losing your truck, like they did with the Pro in LA. Of course it sounds a bit like their story to him when no one could actually locate his truck at the port. Maybe Toyota deliveries have always been this chaotic, and we are just seeing it in real time for once.

Good luck and hang in there. It will be worth the wait, assuming it shows up eventually.

UPDATE: My truck sustained "Class Two" damage during transit and is now unsellable. Toyota is currently working to reallocate a similar truck. ETA is still TBD. Ugh.

I think you have set a new record for Toyota screwing up a delivery. Not that it really matters, but do you know what Class Two damage means?

I hope they are embarrassed enough find you a truck that is a good match to the one they damaged. I would hold their feet to the fire if they don't. This matches the definition of SNAFU!

Class 2 is something they can't get back to factory spec so something must have really fucked up.

I will give them until Friday to provide me with an answer. You would think it shouldn't take more than a day or two to identify a VIN. Besides, this didn't happen today—it was last week. I also contacted the dealer to inform them that the truck disappeared from the website, and I was told the GM had contacted the regional office to figure out what the issue was.

None of us really knows how this process works. If all available allotments are assigned to customers, do they pull from another dealer, and then another customer gets the bad news? Or will I have to wait for a new build? There are some week 44 builds out there. I was told I'm at the "top of the list." We'll see.

@WKTJR1 Yeah, I guess this is not a process that any of us are familiar with. All of the Limiteds can't be sold before dealer arrival, but many of the top trims do seem to be. You would think Toyota would have the ability to find all the Limited hybrids which are not pre-sold and then let you pick your best fit. An inventory search finds some, but fewer than Trailhunters and about the same as Pros.

If you have to wait for them to build you another one you might want to just go for a 2025 and bail on a 2024 if you can wait. You will definitely be pushing it to get your truck ready for a winter in Maine.

UPDATE: Toyota has located a truck for me. Apparently, it's the last one available. Unfortunately, it has a black rather than gray interior, but otherwise, it's the same. I won't know any more details until it's in the dealer's inventory.

That sounds pretty good. I have not seen the Limited black interior, but the black in my Pro looks nice, although I have avoided black interiors for years. Luckily it is more of a dark grey than black, which is a plus. All things considered I would go with the grey, but you take what you can get.

Is it still Radiant Red? I hope so, because that is a beautiful color on a 4th gen.
