First MAJOR problem with this piece of junk (just kidding). Out driving far from home today and after stopping for gas I tried to insert my seat belt and couldn't. No amount of force worked. I was already driving and so annoyed that I didn't want to pull off and try to mess with it. I kept driving and found out that after a full minute, the incredibly annoying warning finally shut off. I had to stop later and still couldn't get the seat belt to work, but after another minute of listening to the horribly annoying warning I decided I was going to pull over and fix the problem before I lost my mind.

I fiddled with the release and that did nothing. I'll spare you all the things I tried that involved inserting the most handy thing I had, a key, into the slot, and randomly pressing on things inside the clip. What finally worked is that I had to hold the release down, and push down on "tabs" on each side inside the clip, and also push down on something in the middle. Whatever I pushed on seemed to stay if the red release button was held in. Then when I inserted the seat belt it clipped back in, and after that it worked fine. I'm not sure all those things absolutely had to be done, but I tried pressing just on the two tabs and that didn't do it, and if I pushed on the tabs without holding the release down, it seems like they snapped back when I tried to insert the belt. I need to see if I can find a diagram of the inside of the seat belt to see if I can figure out exactly what was stuck and what I was pressing on with the key. I haven't had the problem come back yet. Sometimes fiddling around when you have no idea what you are doing just works!
