Belt chirp when a/c turns on

Of course every time I try to take a video, it doesn't happen. I was thinking the same thing with the a/c clutch. I'm going to try and get it in to the dealer soon. I'll report back with their findings.

Took it to the dealer on Tuesday. They had it for a day and said it was normal compared to one they had on the lot.

Mine has two chirps on cold start, then is quiet.

Not yet. I’ll mention it to service advisor on a future trip. Unless it’s a major issue, I try to address the little issues at the same time as the free Toyota maintenance visits.

I’m not saying the sound is normal, but I believe it’s very common with these trucks.

Thank you for responding, and It only chirps when I first start it in the morning, and then every time the compressor kicks on when I’m driving it will happen.

Mine does it too on the first startup after it sits for a while. After its warmed up it is quiet.

I've just been getting 2 quick chirps right when the truck starts with the AC on....So do they all do this and some people don't notice?

I have the noise as well, and rattle when engine is light load/low RPM. Pretty common it looks like.

Only time will tell if it's a real issue lol.

No chirp when starting the TRD Pro. The Hybrid TRD Pro AC compressor does not cycle on and off like the TRD OR iForce engine.

Decided to check the air temp exiting the vents on both the Hybrid Pro and TRD OR iForce, @ LO setting. The TRD OR would fluctuate with the compressor cycle, kicking on at 43 degrees and off at 41.7 degrees. The Hybrid TRD Pro held constant low temperature of 40.6 degrees, did not cycle on/off.

Not sure what this tells us, other than the Hybrid functions differently maybe?

Same with the hard a/c that feels like a misfire. I am not sure if I have heard the belt chirping yet.

I have a 2024 Limited non-hybrid and it does the same thing. 2 chirps on a cold start, nothing once its warmed up.

Same noise and vibration here with the OR on startup and when engaging the A/C after it's been off. Doesn't seem like anything concerning, but time will tell.

Searched the forums for this exact reason! Mine chirps twice on startup here in Florida when sitting for a bit It sounded like it was the AC clutch. Prob normal then and not a one off situation given the number of people reporting it.

Having the same chirp. Doesn't sound like something that an engineer would accept as "normal", but as long as the transmission doesn't blow up, I'll live with it until my 10K service.
