Creeper crawl under my new Trailhunter, 1st Impressions

So, rolled under my trailhunter for a good look at the undercarriage stuff. Just my opinion on what I did and didn't like. So, the good and the not so good.! The steel skid plates, they all look legitly solid, The catalytic converter is covered up and protection looks good. Like the downpipe on the exhaust as well. Overall, ground clearance looks really great. Rear diff seems well protected. The lower rear shock mounts are definately the low hanging objects on the underside, but they are tucked in close to the rear wheels, but certainly something to consider adding protection to. The big disappointment protection wise is the so called fuel skid plate. They call it " composite" but it looks like 3/16" abs plastic to me. Don't trust it at all. Should be better for the money invested. I'm pretty sure you could put a slightly larger spare tire under the bed, but idk about anything larger than a 275/70/18. The stock tires are mediocre at best. The SL rating is laughable in what's supposed to be an offroad/overland truck. It's a shame they arn't at least a C rated load rating. I did drive them on quite a bit of snow packed roads in Montana and they did perform well traction wise though. I noticed the driveshaft is aluminum but pretty beefy looking and tucked up well out of the way. Suspension looks like it's everything as advertised, the rear bump stops look ok but nothing special. I'm not commenting on the front bump stops! :) Overall, I think it's really solid, the fuel protection and the lower rear shock mounts were my biggest concerns but all and all I'm happy and excited about the trailhunter!

Ohh, the wheels, really like how recessed the valve stems are and the dealer installed mud flaps seem suprisingly good quality.

I can attest that the steel skids are super strong as DT jacked up my truck in the totally wrong spot on the skid and it didnā€™t do anything to it ā€” I was super pissed off but simultaneously impressed it took that much weight without deforming
