Ditch/Pod Lights

First time buying lights, do I want to order Flood or Spot for hood (A pillar) mounted ditch lights?

I plan on these probably being the only aftermarket lights on my truck, with maybe a light bar in the grill in the future but not sure. Just not sure if the ditch lights are supposed to be Flood or Spot? Recommendations?

If you don’t have any other lights, you want to get spots. If you have other lights like a light bar in the front, you want to go with a driving combo or white beam to illuminate the sides.

If it's within your budget, check out Baja Designs. I have their Squadron Pros with combo lights. Two bulbs are Spot and two bulbs are Flood/Wide Cornering.

Works beautifully on the trails and on back roads that don't have street lights.

FYI: If you have lights in this position, pointed straight ahead, they will glare off your hood. Even with spots. The purpose of these lights is to pointed to the side and down to see in the... Ditch (Hence the name).

I ran Baja design lights on my JL. They do have different lights for different purpose. I agree if your getting ditch lights I would go with an amber wide cornering from them and they are pointed out to the front side. Than get spots in your front light bar. Check out there web site lots of good info on their.

I 2nd the Squadron lights. They come with a combo lense installed but also provide a spot or wide view only lens that can be installed. Also went white cause I bought the 13 dollar yellow covers on Amazon if I want the change in color
