i am at 850 miles approaching 1k and was considering do the break in oil change that everyone recommends at 1K.

since this is a lease vehicle they offered 2 free oil changes at 10K and 20K miles. should i just leave it alone and let the dealer do the oil changes at their suggested interval since it's just a lease vehicle?

Are you planning to purchase it at lease end? If not, just let the dealer change it at 10k.

i dont plan on it. i took the chance on a year 1 vehicle of new gen so i didnt feel comfortable buying it off the jump. at the end of the lease i intend to return it and if my plans change i might go for a higher trim or jump to the 6th gen 4runner which should be in year 3 of its redesign.
