here's a picture of my rear window - TRD Offroad non premium, top back corner. Gaps at top on both sides. Seals fine as you move down the window. can others check for gaps? anyone with a Premium trim can check? Front doors are good.

asking as i've been chasing wind noise for a bit - the more it breaks in (3500 miles now) it gets worse. I've thrown all my old tricks at it and under 50mph its so much better, but HWY over 65 is annoying. many differences in trims - acoustic vs base glass, inner door seals, etc. just trying to see how much i can do with what i have.

here's the inner doorseals i added - i used the Taco Marine D shaped. this is the same you'll see in other posts as it is very good. this inner seal follows the channel all the way around.
helps with road noise and also i've noticed a its keeping more dust out.

That's a great idea. Where did you get the Taco Marine seals? I'm also thinking about pulling up my carpet and putting dynomat underneath. At the very least along the Firewall to help keep down engine noise.

this is what i used - need 30' of it

TACO Metals Taco Marine V30-0109B10-1 Weather Seal Tape - 3/8" x 5/8" x 10', Black

leaks is an interesting topic as i did pull back the carpet where the JBL Amp is and the Amp showed a tiny amount of rust. in general i haven't noticed a leak but i am suspicious. hoping the new seal may have ended any previous leaks

noise yes! - sealing the door made a big difference - over 65mph wind is still an issue and i'm testing other methods.

roof rail channel was one area - those new plastic covers for the rail attachment area have a good bit of play so i sealed them and that was a positive change. my general thinking though is that there are too many catch points for cross winds so i might be at as good as it can get.

on the JBL - may just be environmental, unsure but here's the pic.

I just checked my rear windows on our TRD OR nonpremium model. There are gaps at the top of the rear windows on each side that seals as it moves down the window. A rider said this leaks wind noise worse than the Gen 3 he sat in for many miles. I've ordered the D ring you used and will start chasing the wind noise as well for my passengers' comfort. I don't hear well and seldom notice the noise.

quick update - i checked the B pillar molding between the doors on the exterior as i still heard what could be a gap around the back of the drivers door - my OCD had to play with it.
that molding comes off easy enough and the internal cavity is huge - very weak strip of rubber. I was able to run the same Taco marine strip inside the cavity all the way up. seems to have made a difference.

takes 10 minutes - wiggle the post inserts and they will come out
the bottom is open to feed the other strip in
the back at the top has open slots
i ran string from the top down then pulled the taco stripping through
