I dont think thats it for the QC holds. That's only for Toyotas distributed by Gulf states toyota and most of the QC holds seem to be trailhunters.

That sounds like something that would just be handled by a recall. They can still sell those trucks and you just take them to the dealer to get a new sticker. Whatever is going on with the Trailhunter must be a lot more serious, because some are being held for months.

Is Gulf States always awful, or just once in a while?

Why is the Toyota distributor network so Mickey Mouse?

This has happened before but on Mercedes GLEs and they had to have a stop sale. Meaning, they can't sell trucks with the wrong sticker because someone can read the gross weight sticker, add too much weight and thus cause an accident.

@larkhen Good point, because those stickers are the gold standard of a vehicle's weight capacity, and that could cause accidents. That might even be a NHTSA requirement to get that spec right.

It sounds like they are issuing recalls for not only Tacoma’s but a ton of 2024 vehicles. I checked my vin and it didn’t come back with a recall on it yet. They may be processing it still or maybe mine skipped that since it was built in June.

They have a recall, mailing out stickers. Highly.doubt that is a cause.

My Trailhunter came with a little yellow sticker reducing the total weight...assume it's the weight of the ARB Sports bar, but just guessing. Purchased back in June.

Is your bedliner sprayed? What other port options were added?

Its not the bar as I dont believe my reduced sticker is as high as 121lbs

It could be the Sport Bar, Rock Sliders, Steel Front Skid Plate, and the Rear Diff Skid Plate.. those could possibly equal 121lbs

Bedliner yes. Everything else was standard on the Trailhunter.

Very well could be the combo of all that. ARB bar itself didn't seem to weigh that much when I removed it.

Problem is that would exceed 121 pounds and why is mine different?

I was under the impression revision stickers were limited to things not standard
