Since I have a Sport with that wicked awesome "air scoop", that wrap had to be done in two pieces: One big sheet over the whole hood and then a smaller panel behind the scoop to the windshield.
My detailer took the scoop off and did the hood in one piece. He is a real pro and he said that hood was the hardest body panel he had ever wrapped.

Wicked awesome is a perfect description of the scoop from my POV too.

Mine did that on my 2022 PRO as well and he even cut perfectly around the decal - he said it was wicked difficult - no seams visible — true artistry

Did front end [hood, bumper, fenders] PPF clear and roof/pillars & mirror caps in PPF satin black to give a "pro" look. May look at adding some protection to the rear fender flares.

I did full because I did not own the vehicle for a week, and I had two rock chips on the rear panels. yes, I see the line. it bothers me, but the bottom lineis that you can fix that in the distant future with buffing and clay bar. not having it means repainting down the line.

Im the most OCD person alive but somehow the little PPF lines don’t bother me - but paint damage does

I did full hood, bumper, fenders, a pillars and leading edge of the roof line. I had partial PPF done before on my other vehicle and I told myself never again. It looked good for a while until the seam started collecting dust.

I've never had any vehicle I've owned PPF'd, and so far, I think I've been pretty lucky as far as rock chips/paint damage goes on my truck. I'm starting to gain an interest in getting mine done, not only for the added protection, but also for the potential appearance modification "opportunities." I'm really leaning towards a clear, matte PPF wrap to give my truck a different look than all the other ice cap Tacomas I've been seeing lately (it's really awesome to see more and more of these trucks driving around finally). I love the white paint, but I also like the idea of giving it some added flare... just not sure I'm ready to throw the money at it yet!
Any of you have any thoughts or opinions on this idea or have experience with matte finish PPF? Difficult to clean? Good idea, bad idea?

Those of you getting partial, are you worried about the doors?

First quote for full coverage was like 9 grand and jesus christ i could get the whole truck repainted for less than that.

I want good protection from trees bushes and branches but god damn a full package is _insane_.

My whole truck was covered for $6,500. You might want to shop around a bit. That is still a lot but it is a forever truck for me.

That is exactly what I did. The detailer was about 40 minutes away and priced to draw business, but they did an excellent job and I am really glad I had it done.

I did partial. I have never full PPF’d any of my vehicles. For me it’s just too much money. I do already have a scuff and also a rock chip on my front doors (one on each side). I run 285s with the small mud flaps. I think at this point I’m just going to let the truck be. I’ve got 12K miles on it and it’s has minimal damage. Considering maybe the bottom third of the door if I do anything more.

@tacorancher I have never done any PPF on any of my previous trucks.

One of the things I love about trucks is that they are tools to do a job, and Tacomas are among the best. The dings and dents my Tundra earned while working and playing never bothered me at all, and all I did was wax it every year or two and change the oil. But my Pro is too pretty to beat up and too capable to not use it off road, so I made my first ever choice to PPF it. The plan is to use it as a back road hero and still keep it clean. We will see how this goes.

I can understand going either way with a 4th gen. They are good honest machines meant to be used and somehow they are also like some of my special cars and I want to take the best care of them I can. Either way you have one of the best trucks I have ever driven and should use them exactly as you want.
