Week of year. Production date is a week timeframe. Allocations are just now showing up online so you probably have 2-3 month wait once you have an allocation. If you dont have an allocation yet, who knows.

did you find your temp vin listed in the toyota inventory search or from the dealer? The temp vin has the production week in it after the last letter. After that week it gets a real vin

The only step of the process that was fast for me was from getting VIN# to build---- it was much quicker than I expected. Everything seemed to take a long time except that. This is my first Tacoma, so that may be the way it goes for everyone. If so, as soon as your temp VIN changes, your truck will get built quickly.

Once the allocation is received the exact date of the build will be available.

Is there something specific you want on a 2025 Tacoma?
You can probably get a hell if deal on 2024s….

Well for one thing i will feel good thinking in 2025 after the hiccups toyota has had. I wont experiance them in 2025,
Second, I sat with dealer and specified i dont want the crazy add ons from port…the money grabs, i was very specific in my needs, we sat and he will now make the adjustment once they see allocation, to only have the said truck with premium package and the sway bar disconnect.
Pretty much sat with sales MGR, and between him, salesman The hopes are to accomplish this,
The sales manager explained to me that in their veiwing of the allocations the do communicate the least amount of port adds as possible due to the fact most customers shrug at pricing being overinflated and guys paying for SR 5 thats priced like a TRD

@Airborne So it sounds like you don't have an allocation yet? You just put money down and told the dealer what you want, but no temp VIN or anything on the website, right? From my experience, the dealers have no ability to order to spec and very little willingness to modify allocations. For me, they were only willing to ADD more Port Installed Options and not take any off. Go figure! I realize I was going for one of the first Trailhunters and its rare/halo trim and all. You should have an advantage just with the volume of trucks on the market, so I hope you have better luck.

My recommendation is to do your own legwork. Spend some time on the Toyota.com inventory page. See what allocations are at your dealer and nearby. And like @chounder said, don't count out the 2024s. There should be no difference between a late-2024 and an early 2025 build. If you find a 2024 that's already on the lot and close to what you want, you should be able to get a deal. Especially in the last few weeks of the year! Send out a few emails to dealers and see what they offer you. If nothing else, it'll give you something to do while you wait!

I apreciate your helpful suggestions, i have been in contact with dealership and weve have done business on several occasions, i guess the big objective was to get a truck with the least ammount of port add ons, this was somthing we both talked about extensively, he understood, also the point in waiting on 2025 is the transmission issue spooked me i suppose,
This dealer was out of Hybrids and wouldnt be getting anymore 24,s so i will wait, he told me on the 16th they will be seeing build vins and at that point they will be able to assign me a build vins, and also contact factory in hopes of interveining as much as possible to not get crazy port adds.
This is just my thoughts but i think there is a mistake learned from over loading every truck on this launch of 24,s. There are SR-5S over loaded with things pricing the customers up to a TRD level truck, people were being forced to get an SR5 at price of trd offroads, its crazy….anyway we will see , cross fingers.

I stepped out of my comfort zone a used a broker to get exactly what I wanted. Off road upgrade package and SDM. The only add on was black emblem overlays. I was back and forth with Underground vs Bronze Oxide? Ended up with Underground… It was the easiest purchase I’ve ever made, other than flying and driving home 2300 miles! And $3400 off MSRP in June was a great price, he’s now advertising below invoice…

Aren't you at all worried that your 2025 Tacoma, being made in Mexico, might get a 25% price boost? That's not something I would take a chance on.
