Hi all,

My previous post got taken down because I was trying to get rid of my allocation. I saw a similar post around a month ago so I'm confused as to why it was taken down. I'm not asking any markup either. For the sake of this post not being taken down too, I won't be selling anything on this site.

How do you guys usually sell allocations? Is there a different platform? Tips?

Are you talking about an allocation for a truck?

Contact your dealer. If you put down a down deposit you may have a little trouble.

I remember when I put my allocation down there were some dealers that agreed to issue full refunds, and some dealers who wouldn't offer refunds. My dealer personally put *pending credit approval* on mine.

You could probably potentially find someone to take over your spot in the allocation line but that might be challenging, and once again you still want to contact your dealer first to verify that's something they're alright with doing.

I plan to contact them tomorrow hoping they'll give it to the next person in line. They mentioned they have a big list of people wanting it, but getting my money back is my biggest concern.

I heard of people transferring allocations on forums and posting "for sale" allocations, but my luck has been pretty bad. Most forums (understandably) don't like that since it's easy to be a scammer. Hopefully the dealership has good news.

Hmmm, maybe go to the dealership for a start ?, if you put money down on truck then you will have Buyers order copy, it should clearly state , the dealership policy, Thats going to answer most of your questions

Asking about a refundable deposit has always been my first question. In some states, all deposits are required to be refundable by law.

I've never heard of selling allocations at the consumer level. From what I’ve seen, this typically happens at the ultra-luxury or high-performance level, where vehicles are exorbitantly priced, and the wait time is often years.

How would that even work? The dealer would need to be involved, and they would have the final say.
