Had to add my plate today, in MA it failed inspection. Bummer. Since I had to do it, here is some info on the install:

The dimples were there on my truck. Probably not needed, but I pre-drilled through the plastic bumper cover with 1/8” drill, screws went in much smoother (instructions say don’t drill, but I read them afterwards ;). The dealer gave me a bracket kit - includes 2 Phillips head screws, so I decided to use it, and I think it looks much cleaner than just a plate directly on the bumper (had that setup on my previous truck).

The bracket is a Toyota part and is form fitted for the Taco bumper. Don’t know the PN, but included some pics.

yup I got the same bracket - it’s not bad - I think I had to drill a little bit because the screws would not properly purchase into the plastic bumper
