Hi friends,

I went into the settings menu and turned off steering assist under LDA (land departure assist), but the car still steers for me, even when not in CC.

how do I turn it off? I am okay with a warning, but the auto steering has freaked me out a few times now.

I cant remember but keep looking. It is in there. I have it and everything else turned off, drives just like it should. I still do love the option to hit the cruise control option and everything turns back on, basically driving itself.

Yeah, there are times it feels like it will rip the wheel out of my hands. The truck really get nervous on back roads with no lanes and turned my towards the center of the road with oncoming traffic.

Works good on interstate highways where roads are fairly straight, there are lines and no side streets, but anywhere else you need to be ready for the truck to panic.

You can press the lane tracing button on the steering wheel. I think long pressing may disable it while in CC but I cannot recall.

Edit: I think I might have misunderstood. There is lane departure and also lane tracing assist. You might be turning off lane departure and not tracing. I believe tracing becomes active whenever you use CC and does not turn off when you exit CC. I think just pressing the tracing button will disable it still.

Haha, last sentence in the first paragraph "LTA requires driver to grip the steering wheel". No shit! First time the truck yanks the wheel is a shocker.

I'm quite sure that Lane Assist is only on when the camera detects paint lines on the pavement.

Well on non lined roads it will jerk the wheel out of my hand. Truck does not like when I am near the shoulder and will pull truck towards center of road. It will do this even with oncoming traffic. Not sure what specifically is triggering it. Maybe trees a few feet off the side of the road? Once in a while I will get a BSM light flashing going by a mailbox or tree on these roads. However when the BSM flashes, it never pulls the wheel. The system works well with lines on the road as LTA has rules to follow. Once it tries to interpret non standard conditions LTA seems to panic.

That's a setting in the instrument cluster. You can have it make a beep.

Try disabling "PDA". It's the predictive driving assistance and will steer and slow the truck down on corners.
