Hybrid owners….when sitting idle and your engine goes to Hybrid mode, do you have a fan running constantly in the engine bay? I’ve owned a couple hybrids, Tundra and Tacoma, and don’t recall the fan running in hybrid mode. Almost complete silence on previous trucks.

I’m experiencing this on a new TrailHunter.

Don’t really notice it. I will say that that A/C doesn’t get very cold..:

Seems It is AC related. If I turn off AC, the fan stops and it sounds like previous trucks.

Funny… the AC in my truck is super cold. I’ve alway left AC on low in all my vehicles but 70 in this one is similar to low in the others.

Thanks. I just don’t recall hearing it run all the time on other hybrids.
What about turning A/C off and just using the vents does the fan keep cycling? I've noticed mine does... Non-hybrid

no it does not. If I turn AC off, the fan turns off. Vents keep blowing, but the air is not cold

Something is not right, our AC will freeze you right out of the truck!

I always fully disable the climate control, the headlights, and the seat blowers when I go into “power plant” mode. This usually … eventually … shuts down all those fans, at least one of which is probably the A/C compressor. I also lower the windows and try to park in the shade. When I don’t, there sometimes comes on another fan in the battery compartment.

Doing all this will, for me, put the truck fully into silent mode after a minute or so.

Fan system runs to cool the NiMH. Runs extensively when using the inverter & AC high load stuff. Thermal management. More room in the tundras perhaps they’re quicker to cool, fans run less vs output on the rig.
