Hybrid Question/ Fuel

So this may have been discussed before, question on fuel requirements for proper running truck, is there a Requirement to use 93- or higher octane ?
Quality fuel is a norm for me ,just not sure if im suppose to run high octane in the Hybrid engine……

Hybrid engine is the same as non-hybrid, these all can run on 87 fuels, but do as you like and run whatever you want to

I run 91 , I wouldn't put anything less .

Manual states 87 is minimum. Modern engines have no problem retarding the timing, but it's still a boosted higher compression engine so I run premium and i think you do get slightly more power.

The software/engine is tuned for 87. Using a higher octane is a waste of money.

You'll never feel a 7% increase in horsepower in your butt dyno. If I recall, it's only 5% increase in torque. I'm not sure I've ever floored my throttle, so why waste the money?

Just because you dont get slapped in the face with it doesn't mean its not making a difference. This is why we do a dyno run to get some objective data.

I'm not going to spend money on something that doesn't give me value back–something I can only know is happening if I look at dyno data.

You've got a great truck, and so do I. We're different. Dive it like you own it and use the fuel of your choice. Enjoy.
