I was able to put my Sport non hybrid to the test with towing over the weekend. Our main tow rig, a 2500HD, was not available so I hooked up our 21 foot snowmobile trailer to the taco and off I was. Trailer is about 4,000lbs all loaded up and my guess is around 600lbs tongue weight, so I knew I was pushing it there. Only hauled the trailer 20 miles to the trail head and then back, but it did great, I was very impressed. I have stock suspensions and the truck did squat a bit, but in tow you could barely feel the trailer, and the truck seemed like it could get up and go just as good as our 2500HD does when NOT in tow. I have the integrated brake controller and had no problems selecting the trailer and adjusting the trailer brake gain. Everything worked flawlessly. Certainly not gonna be my new tow rig, but nice to know it can do the job if necessary.
