Right below the screen housing and above the vent left of center. Hasn’t happened anywhere else that I’ve noticed. I’m wondering what might be underneath this trim? Is something getting too hot just right there? I used no chemicals on the trim, just moist fibre cloths. Going to the stealership soon for a look see..

I went at it w/ isopropyl alcohol and it remains. Something is getting hot under the trim. I wonder if it came from the side USB-C port on the right of the display? I had my phone charger plugged into it and it complained about an unsupported device. It’s the Apple MagSafe adapter I use in a Ram-mount rig. The defect is directly under the power/volume switch…

This may be caused by heat/sunlight concentration. The perfect condition of sunlight refracting from a mirror or window, could have concentrated heat rays in this particular area. The other plastics in close proximity were not prone to such heat concentration. Not saying it IS the cause, but it’s a plausible guess.

I’m at the service center of my dealer and seeing what they think. These people waste more time and I’m not sure the “whoever needs to look at this issue” will make an appearance today. I’m becoming convinced that it is heat, but likely from below the trim housing… I’m curious to know what runs underneath it?? Need a wiring diagram..->

Found a dealership employee. I agree, they're stealerships. Most of them are unethical & straight up try to rip people off.
Hey now you’re describing Dodge/Ram/Jeep dealers. lol.
I had a decent experience with Toyota, other than they are a bit cocky and don’t mind if you don’t buy as they have more customers than cars. No mark ups or negotiations down, you pay msrp. And no bull deal admin fees. At least that is in my area.

Same here - though I've read and seen a lot of people paying ADM. There's that one dude here that just bought an SR5 for 62k o_O

I recall seeing this on my 4runner. This was due to my air freshener. I had a stuffed toy sitting on it and it absorbed the oils from the freshener and ruined my center console. you have some sort of air freshener on your ac vent in that specific location?

Now that you mention it.. the dumb car wash air freshener was hanging there for a few days… hot days too.. :( I’ll still see what the dealer does as it’s got bumper to bumper for 2 years. ;)
