Is anyone else having a very clicky type rattle coming from the dash? It seems to lessen when I hold/push the JBL speaker down a little. I didn't have the issue until it got cold, with the exception of if I had the sunroof and back sliding window open - which apparently causes some sort of airflow pattern that makes the same rattle, however I did not attribute that issue to the JBL speaker as I rarely run that combination and there's no way I'm testing that in the middle of midwest winter. I hate rattles and it's driving me crazy but I can't think of a fix for it with exception of removing the speaker.

I have a rattle coming from the plastic trim piece around my HUD.

Maybe some electrical tape layered up on the dash under the JBL speaker to put pressure on the speaker to prevent movement?

Yes I have that same exact thing. I took felt tape, adhesive on the back side. It's about half inch wide and a bit thicker than a credit card, I cut that in half so it's about quarter inch. Then took speaker out and put it on the dash side around the upper edge but not so you'd see it with the speaker in place. This made it so I had to apply downward pressure just a bit to lock the speaker in place. This reduced the rattle by quite a bit.

I found pushing down hard on the speaker does make it go away. Now I'm taking the same road home every day pushing on adjacent areas and it's either the push button used to remove the speaker or it's the bucket area of the speaker that is the issue. Haven't nailed it down exactly. Maybe for you the felt tape will be the fix though.

I tried to put some felt between the two “arms” that come up to the speaker from the floor of the reciprocal but couldn’t get the speaker back in. My felt might be too thick. You placed yours around the vertical edge? I think mine is a combo of the speaker and the button. If I gently press the button it seems to get better as well. I’m wondering if the lack of tension on the speaker is causing lack of tension in the button which allows it to rattle. I’ll mess around with felt placement some more and see if something helps. Im hoping someone will figure out an adjustment to the actual housing to fix it.

I put the felt here in this picture. I just pulled the assembly out today to dive back in to the issue. Those holes are where the pins come through to contact the speaker when it's pushed down into place. I'm going to drive around without this installed. I also have a rattle in the RF door/mirror area that's hard to pin down. I took the door panel off and felt taped a few areas today, put panel back on, will see if I nailed that one then go after the speaker again.

I also meant to say putting the tape here made it so the speaker doesn't pop out when you push the button without prying it out. I feel like it's the perfect amount of restriction to install the speaker. I know I won't take it out so needing a plastic wedge to pry it out doesn't bother me. The felt as installed the way you see it makes me push the speaker down just hard enough it makes a solid click to lock onto both those latches. This is what makes me think it's not the speaker but something in the bucket itself. Now I can get a good look at it too. It comes out easy. Remove the speaker. Use your fingers to pull up the trim on the outer edge. Then take out the 2 screws that hold the bucket in. Took about 2 minutes to do it all.

I tried to put felt where the caution sticker was, thinking it’d add more tension to the prongs which would hopefully pull the button tight as well, but my felt is too thick and wouldn’t allow the speaker to fully seat into the pins on each side. Going to try with thinner felt
