Moonroof rattling when closed and sounds like it is about to fail when opening

Just over 5k miles on my Tacoma and a rattle has started in the moonroof when closed. Happens at all speeds. When I open (either crack or fully open) the moonroof, the sound goes away.

Moreover, when opening the moonroof, it sounds as though the motor is struggling or not functioning correctly. See attached video for the sound. Any thoughts? Anyone experience anything similar?
