Well I finally went to Ohio and got my Trailhunter. When I got home I noticed it have to covers for the snorkel. I have seen posts on FB and here saying that this piece has fallen off while driving. Looks like they updated it with some new fasteners. I assume this was part of the QC hold?

My apologies for the size of photos, but I am not used to using a Macbook yet.

wow that's surprising they changed it that fast.

show's how aware Toyota is of these problems and capability to address them rapidly, but disappointed in the lack of communication with their buyers :cautious: i would like for stuff like this to be transparently addressed

Yep, us current TH owners need this fix. I’m scared to leave it on while driving, it comes off very easily. Thinking of putting a little stickum on the ball and sockets.

How was the Ohio dealer to work with? I’m going to Ohio to get mine as well.

They were great. Had all the paperwork done and I was in and out in 40 minutes. My salesman kept me updated throughout the process and was even patient with me when I was tired of waiting. lol

Has anyone approached the dealer to have the new part installed without their being a recall notice? My trailhunter is before this change.

I know a couple people on FB are taking the pictures I sent to their dealers to find out about it.
