@Jimbo662 Damn - that doesn't leave you with a good feeling.

I think it is just a matter of time until it goes down for good. Good luck, and let us know what your dealer has to say.

Can you check it for codes? If you don't have any stored there is probably no point in even taking it to your dealer unless it dies for good.
How and where do you check for codes?

You can either take it to an auto parts store - many do that for free. You can use an OBD2 reader like a Carista. I'm glad I got one because there seem to be a lot of things popping up with 4th gens.

Thanks! I just ordered an OBD2. We'll see what it says.

It’s seems to be a bug across the premium systems.

I wish Toyota listed bugs they’ve fixed and when to expect an over the air update.

I just ran a test with the OBD2. It shows a fault on the backup sensors.

@Jimbo662 I think that is good news. Now your dealer can swap out whatever is broken and get it working again. All first year vehicles should probably come with one of those as standard equipment.

Good luck.

I told my dealer when I took mine in for the new Plastic bed caps under warranty. They checked for codes...none, could not duplicate so simply noted on my records.

I took it in week before last. They said everything checked out ok and was working properly. Maybe something was just a little loose.

This happens probably 15-20% of the time when I remote start the truck. After getting in and depressing the brake pedal/pressing ignition button, the screen remains blank/black. A reset of the infotainment system by holding down the power button always resolves it.
