Nice!! I have a rifle dynamics RD103/ak47-bulgarian receiver.. I was considering the new aftermarket software flash for the Tacoma, but I thought I should wait until it is Kalifornia legal, so I have an AR10 from Daniel defense on order instead

I have nothing but Zastava M70's and a Zastava M77 7.62x51 or .308 AK for deer hunt. I am going to mount EOTECH holographic scopes on the black polymer version.

2024 Tacoma SR. Purchased 10/24. Tow package. No brake controller for this model. Dealership doesn’t even know what a brake controller is and is no help! I believe Toyota and the dealership falsely advertise this model as having the ability to tow 6400lbs. However, legally the truck must have a brake controller to activate trailer brakes. Manual says don’t recommend 3rd party controller but the Toyota brake controller cannot be added to this model. This model has a 7way with brake wire. Towing a boat is usually fine since they have surge brakes but towing any other trailers including campers is impossible.

So…without the ability to add a wired controller this truck CANNOT tow a camper that requires brakes even if the camper is 3000lbs for example.

False advertising.

PS…please don’t ask if I’ve checked for a harness, contacted the dealer, contacted Toyota, Customer Care or my local trailer place. I’ve done all of this and more. I plan on trying a Curt echo next.
I understand your frustration, but you might have better luck having the work done then taking the dealership to small claims court? At least you won't have crazy attorney's fees.

I just went to the dealer for my 10,000 check and was reminded of how disappointed I am in this truck. 10,000 miles, most through upstate NY winter, and I've never even washed it, lol. I just hate it.

While waiting for the service to be done, I decided I would try to sell it again once the tariffs kick in, see if the value jumps up, then unload it. I understand the prices will probably be higher on the buying side too, but at least it would hopefully be on something worthwhile.

It does seem a little wacky that the 4th Gens cant have a brake controller added. If you are still looking for a solution, consider the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Plug and Play trailer mounted brake controller. I have been using one for a few months and it seems as good as any of their other brake controllers and doesn't require any connection to the truck other than the 12 volt plug to power the handheld remote. The main downside is the brake controller stays with the trailer so it is not a solution if you have to tow multiple trailers. If that is the case, a Tacoma probably isn't the best choice.

That Prodigy RF is a really nice option, especially if you'll swap out tow rigs more often than campers.

I don't see anywhere that claims more than 3500lb tow rating for the SR.
