hey man i don't know much about paddle shifters. I think it's automatic transmission shifter that lets you manually shift through the 8 forward gears yes ? But there is no 3rd pedal clutch yes ? So if you're a fidgety guy like me and you need something to occupy your hands while driving then get a manual transmission. Seriously, every one of my Tacos has been a 5MT or a 6-MT. Try checking that out first.

Aside from all the horror stories about them failing, I did enjoy the test drive. I am not really sure if now is the right time to buy. The one I drove was the Hybrid model.

paddle shifters on a truck to me are like sunroofs on a truck...

No paddle shifter on the sport. You can shift gear manually with the shifter though. There is a manual mode. It essentially limits the upper gears.

Atleast I do not go around the internet calling people stupid, the only person that answered my question was:
