It happened to my wife's vehicle... Are the sensors dirty? I washed my wife vehicle and they worked fine afterwards.

Have you cleaned off front sensor? Really sensitive to snow, ice, mud blocking it. Can be real PITA.

yes I have experienced it , I even had it disabled and once that big grill sensor covered over with road slush those alert messages kept cycling on the display until I removed the slush mess from the sensor. Absolutely annoying while driving and it I couldn’t make it stop while mobile had to stop to clear it.
These sensors also make going through an automated car wash an adventure and you learn to disable all this stuff before entering.

Probably a little dirt or ice/snow on the sensor. Stop and give them a clean. I don't really like rubbing dirt off of something as the surface will likely scratch so a quick black at the carwash usually does it.

just grab a fuckin water bottle and pour a little on the sensor while you rub it with your pinky. everything will be okay.

I had this happen today driving in a snow squall and I am pretty sure those sensors are behind the black rectangular piece of plastic, shown just above the light bar in this photo.

They aren't behind the plastic. The two circles above the top corners of the light bar are the sensors.

I just figured this out on my winter cross country drive. Splash some cold weather windshield wiper fluid on the sensors (and hit the radar panel as well.) This will do you for a couple of hours at a time. The display shows which sensors are not reporting (the two middles, in your case) but hit all four and the radar panel just in case. The bumper and panel are prone to picking up clear ice which is hard to see. Trying to scratch the ice off can damage the paint. The wiper fluid clears it immediately with a little finger rubbing, and stays on for a little bit preventing further icing.

If I were doing a bunch of cold weather driving, i would have a little spray bottle of deicing wiper fluid strapped somewhere in the cab where it stayed warm, and just give them a spray every time I stopped. These items needed to be heated from the factory- BMW has it figured out.

The square plastic bit is the radar panel- it will ice up and fail as well. The two sensors that failed in OP's picture are on your bumper- small circles just left of the Rago cutout above your little light bar in the left and right corners. The other two are out on the grey plastic part of the bumper and are hard to see unless you zoom in all the way on the picture.
