Finally picking up my Bronze Oxide OR long bed Monday. Wondering what is actually checked during a PDI ?

I’m assuming there is actually a checklist . I’ll ask to see it. Been a long wait.

When I bought my 2023 TAG XL Boondock teardrop trailer, the PDI was a standard form that had things checked off that the TAG doesn't have, like refrigerator, fireplace, toilet, etc, and I noticed a badly warped cabinet door and floorboard, and the guy doing the walk through casually took pix and when I asked him how come these weren't on the PDI, he said "things happen". After the 165 mile drive home, one of the two bolts holding the spare to the mount was gone and the other one was barely holding on! Nobody at the dealer was at all perturbed that I could have had a wheel/tire flying down the interstate at 65 MPH and crashing into a van full of kids, and while I hope Toyota actually does a walk through, I told the NuCamp dealer that I was quite shocked that it was done while a guy ate lunch at his desk.

I’m sitting here chuckling as I review the check sheet. Every box checked even if the vehicle is not equipped with same. I’d guess this review done in ernest would take a tech. 8 hours +.
I asked for the PDI because I took delivery of a new Goldwing recently that had 25% of the specified final drive gear oil. I found it during my PDI.
I’ll bring a tire gauge (TRD Jon had 50 psi ) check the engine oil and complete the Post Delivery Inspection over the course of the next week or so.
It is what it is!

I checked my truck yesterday and my tires were between 50-51 psi. This was after driving several hours and noticing vibration. So I guess lucky nothing happened as they say max 51 psi on them.

Between the $45k price tag or the $1.5k processing fee I would hope a thorough inspection by the dealer would be included, even if it took a few hours. I'm guessing a tech spending that much time would cost the dealership too much man power and hurt the bottom line.

Check your tire pressure. Many have been way over inflated. Oil level also a good idea. Mine was pulled into a well lit bay and I had time to go over it. I must say it was cleaned very well inside and out with Moroney label folded nicely in the glove box. My sales person went over every aspect of the vehicle to include all the settings in the instrument cluster and in the monitor. We loaded this truck into my app which I already had. Connect services worked without an hitch.

Yep; when I checked my tire pressure they were all at 50, and although my salesman swore up and down they don't do dealer added BS, they tried to charge me for "nitrogen" in the tires (proving they inflated the tires to 50) and "etching" the windows, but at least they did keep their promise to not do ADM!

At the dealership pre-delivery and with PDI in hand I checked the tire pressure, 50 psi. I followed up with a service tech who explained that PDI inspections are not completed by the service department but by a 3rd party off site.

I asked the service tech to correct tire pressure and also verify fluid levels in the differentials and transfer case. These inspection points are not on the PDI list ? There was some discussion about additional cost but later waived.

This was a high volume dealership so outsourcing these inspections may not apply elsewhere.

I made my own Delivery Checklist, assuming (probably incorrectly) that they checked all the mechanical stuff:

◯ Check your VIN
◯ Check Mounting Points on Roof Rack
◯ Check Air Intake Cover Bolts
◯ Check Tail Gate Alignment
◯ Check A/C front passenger seat and driver’s side for leaks
◯ Check Bed Scene Lighting
◯ Check Tire Pressure at 32 PSI
◯ Front License Plate Bracket
◯ Window Sticker
◯ Owner’s Manual
◯ Pig Tails for AUX Switches
◯ JBL Removable Speaker
◯ Floor Mats
◯ Key Cards
◯ Door Panel Scuff Protectors
◯ Door Edge Guards
◯ Mud Guards
◯ Tailgate Insert Letters
◯ Spray On Bedliner

Obviously the bottom few are PIO, and yours may vary. What am I missing?
Key cards, if that’s still happening
