I've got Apple Car Play linked to my infotainment system/screen. I love to have my music loud. When an incoming txt comes in and Siri goes to read it, the music doesn't stop or even mute so that I can hear her and it's beyond frustrating! Do I really have to quickly manually turn down the music to be able to hear the txt? And that goes for calls to? Please tell me I'm just missing something!

Mine turns off for calls, but not any other SIRI function. I agree, it's frustrating. Also that Siri has a different volume. When she's talking, you can turn up the volume and it will make her louder. Maybe someone has a setting we don't know

I’ve posted a our this as well in the past - super annoying, My other vehicle has apple car play, and it always fully mutes for phone calls and reading text messages, I’ve also rented many vehicles that also mute for text and phone calls. Can’t figure out why the new Tacoma does not.

hope someone comes up with a solution.

Something of a solution I noticed in mine.. if I've used the power button to pause/play whatever I'm listening to on CarPlay and make that "connection", suddenly things will properly pause with Siri activation. Definitely feels like a bug that needs to be ironed out, but at least there's a slight fix. May need to be tested by others to confirm it's not just mine.
