I took a trip this week across the water to Orcas Island in the Washington state San Juan's to Raingler Nets. The owner, Eddie, needed to test fit a Tacoma so I volunteered my truck. Raingler has two main products for the Tacoma, a barrier between the front and back seats, and a storage "loft" over the back seat.

Eddie was quite pleased at how easy the new Tacoma was to fit their products. Apparently some of the previous generations needed drilling and whatnot to install mounting points for the barrier. That wasn't the case here. He was able to use the seat belt mounting points for the barrier D rings and those same points for the loft, along with the existing back coat hooks which just needed to be flipped upside down.

The result is pretty sweet. TBH these aren't items I would probably have considered but that's mainly because I've banished the dogs from my truck. If you're carrying the dogs around then IMHO these mods are almost mandatory and now that I've got them I may reconsider my no-dog policy. Of course now I'm thinking about deleting the drivers side rear seat and building a platform in it's place.

My sunroof does intrude on the loft space but there's still quite a bit of space up there for items. It also intrudes a bit on back passenger headroom but I rarely have anyone sitting back there and if you're short (5' 7") like me then it's not an issue anyway.

I was surprised to see this morning that the site has already been updated with the 2024 Tacoma products. There are options for things like the color of the netting and to make a passthrough for the barrier if that's what you need.

Eddie and his wife are great people and I enjoyed spending a couple of days on the island getting to know them. They have a unique, quality product that you're not going to get off Amazon. This is the type of small business that I highly recommend supporting.

Thanks for share this - I was wondering when a company would produce something like this. I have an "attic" for my 5th gen and find it very useful.

Very cool. I like that Raingler is local and only a ferry boat ride away! Checking them out now.

Ordered mine right away. I really appreciate you going for fitment. Seriously one of my favorite mods I have done on my Fj and we missed it in the Tacoma on a recent trip.

What a cool product. I think I purchased from them before for my 2000 Grand Cherokee. Now for the Trailhunter. Biggest decision is do I want yellow stitching to match the interior...

Aaaghhh. So many choices. 1st world problem.

I’ve been looking for a storage solution like this, so thanks for posting. How does the ceiling netting hook to the interior near the front seats? It’s a bit hard to see and I don’t remember any attachment points above the seatbelts.

Not sure as I do not have it yet. Talked to Ed there and he said this version is much easier... uses existing attachment points. Will post when received and installed.

I went with hybrid black. Yellow thread a bit bright and did not really match Trailhunter stitching. Lots going on color-wise in the cab so I am keeping it toned down.

If you know anyone with a 24 Taco (non-hybrid) I have a brand new WeatherTech HP second row mat. It will NOT fit a hybrid... ordered by mistake. Cost to return... $78. Cost me $84 to buy.

The net comes with D rings and webbing loops that you install. I'd take a picture but I'm currently out in the middle of nowhere... It's a pretty easy install though. Basically you pull the plastic off the b pillar and then remove the bolt holding the upper seatbelt, install the webbing that has the D ring in the same bolt the seatbelt is attached to. You use the same D ring for both the loft net and the barrier...

Thanks for that description, it sounds like a solid tie down point in the front. I will likely get one of these, but one more question came to mind, with the netting connected to the bolt under the B pillar does it roll up?

Here are pictures I took off the front and back mounting points this morning. The loft net doesn't come with anything to roll it up but I certainly don't see why you couldn't easily get some Velcro and do so. The loft is shaped like a trapezoid so I'd probably roll it towards the front since that's the widest part.

Keep in mind that my net is a prototype so the way the ends are finished in the shipped version might look a little different but it will work the same way.

You can always contact Eddie and ask him as well. He's a great guy and I'm sure would answer any questions.
