Remote Start Climate Control

Hello everybody. New 2024 TRD Off Road owner, defecting from the Nissan world. Winter is still sort of upon us in Montana and I've been trying to figure out the remote start climate control settings. it seems like no matter what the settings are in the app when it is remotely started it uses the climate settings that were previously set. Am I missing something here or is this a bug?

I haven't had any issues, I set mine to 85f and it's always at that setting when I remote start through the app. I only wish the truck would stay running longer than 10 minutes, because that's not long enough to melt the ice off during our bad winters.

That is good to know, sounds like it could just be me right now. I agree 10 minutes is not long enough.

I’m guessing not, assuming it should be noticeable. The settings displayed with the climate controls definitely been exactly as I left them when it turned it off last when I’ve remote started with either the app or fob. In the mornings it’s barely warmed up enough to take the edge off the cold.

Haven't tested mine a bunch but i think a couple times it didn't work as you said. Interesting you get the choice of defrosts.... Mine off road Premium in Canada.

So the 2024 can be remoted started with the fob? Good to know. Is it a dedicated button on the fob or the same as the previous gen? Hit the lock button 3 times and hold on the third press? Is it a subscription service?

Yes it can, I also believe it doesn’t shut off when you open the door either. I found a YouTube video demonstrating this and it’s been my experience. It is also my understanding that the subscription after trial is only required for the app based remote start.

I'm not sure where I read it but I believe once you are not on a remote connect subscription the fob (2 push + hold) will not work. From my experience so far the fob start does not work very good with any distance, or if your truck is facing away from you. The app is the way to go.

Found the solution today! I started the pickup with the app and the heat set to max and both defrosters on. I looked through the window to see these same settings. Then opened the door and the settings immediately switched to what I had set when I was driving the pickup previously.

TLDR: remote start custom settings work from the app, the settings switch back to what they were when it was driven before when the door is opened.

The only way to do it is to leave everything on before you exit the vehicle then turn off custom climate in the app... This is the only way I believe... They should have added heated seats/steering wheel in the app
